REALLY Matrix and DJ? All those guys you guys named can afford to be loyal. Why? Because they are big time talents and teams would be stupid to try and trade them.
Don't get amnesia and start acting like role players aren't considered expendable now...Last edited by DukeC; 12-16-2011, 09:21 PM.Comment

Looks like Stephen Jackson is once again upset over a contract
There is growing speculation, though, that Jackson is upset the Bucks haven't approached him about reconstructing his contract and that he was now going to approach them. Jackson, the Bucks' projected starting shooting guard who averaged 18.5 points in 67 games last season, apparently wants another two years be tacked on to his current deal.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Some selctive reading going on here....
I JUST said Big Time talents can afford to be loyal. Are CP3, Dwight, and Melo not considered top talents anymore? Come on now. I specifically said role players are expendable. Melo, CP3, and Howard are not role players. THEY ASK FOR TRADES. WHY? BECAUSE BIG TIME TALENTS CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT AND...GUESS WHAT? People will still offer for their services. So it doesn't really matter what either of those players do. They can afford to be loyal OR not.
Gerald Wallace and Eric Gordon are borderline role players. Hell, maybe even "stars". The 2nd or 3rd options (In Wallace's case) on a good team. Neither should be the 1st option. Both were traded.
Tell me, why should they be loyal when they've done everything you suggested? They both shut up and play hard. They produce. Yet...they got traded.....
And...by your logic...they should be loyal....
See... I can do that selective reading crap too....
Edit: There. I bolded it for you so you couldn't possibly miss it...Last edited by DukeC; 12-16-2011, 09:33 PM.Comment

HowardBeckNYT Sort of a no-brainer, but worth noting: Knicks are interested in Travis Outlaw, who is expected to clear waivers. Up to 6 teams chasing#RespectTheCultureComment

It's nice to have loyal ownership and there are many situations where owners are loyal. Look at Greg Oden, if you want an example.
But you're missing my point and I'm getting pissed off, so ****ing it. Let's just drop this. Can't wait for the season to start.Comment

Players and coaches are employees.

As for the loyalty thing...listen, I applaud guys like Larry Fitz, Dirk, Tim Duncan, etc. Fitz happens to be one of my favorite players, so I really look up to his professionalism. BUT, I can't be mad at a player who doesn't want to be "loyal" to the franchise that gave him his chance, when I see what guys like Peyton Manning are gonna go through. I mean, the team is seriously debating getting rid of Manning because of one neck injury, when he probably has 2-3 years or PRO BOWL QB left. There's no real loyalty in sports, because one knee injury, and it's nice knowin' ya.
As much as players can show more loyalty to their teams, owners of any sports team will always look through the "what have you done for me lately" eye, and players should have that right too, because it IS a business as much as it is entertainment.
But, I think this topic is been harped on enough. No one should be ignoring someone because of opinions, we're just all excited about basketball, right?Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I think its time for an athlete to make staying with their own team popular. The crap that lebron did to the city of cleveland was classless. And building a superteam with his buddies wade and bosh may have hurt the league more than it helped. Now other stars are going to have to be on superteams in order to win championships. This is why I hope the great will never win a title with wade, lbj and bosh. ImoComment

But it would never happen and they wouldn't have much reason to anyway. I'd try to get Dwight to put alongside Blake.Comment
