Trading for Dwight with THAT deal would leave us room for a Caron Butler move right? I'm all for getting Dwight, but I wanna make sure we got some solid perimeter defense so we aren't Orlando north with guys just waltzing into the lane and getting Dwight into foul trouble every other game.

Ah, thought Rivers was closer to 6'6" 6'7".

Dang yall are the best for breaking news.

Anyway great news about the Lakers, hope that is all the back to backs they have.

And it would be awesome if the Bulls didn't have to give up Deng but I'd be more than happy trading Noah and Boozer for D12 and JRich. I don't see getting a better offer than that in terms of actual talent right now.

All that being said I still want D12 in LA!

EDIT: Nope Austin Rivers is 6'4

According to Jason Fleming the Blazers want to offer Oden a multi year deal...I could kinda understand a single year but a multi year? Unless it is a 2 year deal with a team option for the 2nd, that is ludicrious to me.

I understand his potential and all that but at what point does the fact he has sat on the bench basically 3 of 4 seasons come into play? If he gets injured AGAIN and ends up eating up valuable cap space I will not feel the least bit sorry for the Blazers.

At least Bynum had 67% of his games when got a multi year offer.

I agree with you bro. Definitely give him a two year deal max

Also Blazers will not amnesty Brandon Roy

During a 90-minute meeting on Monday, the Blazers have decided not to amnesty Brandon Roy.

Nate McMillan will even consider starting Roy.

The Blazers won't say that the decision not to amnesty Roy is permanent, but there is a clear change in their thinking.

Not really surprising news, but NO is looking to trade CP3 before season starts.

There is rising sentiment within the New Orleans Hornets' organization to trade Chris Paul before the 2011-12 season even starts if he hasn't signed an extension with the team by then, according to sources close to the situation.

Clippers and Warriors are his preferred destinations according to Real GM.

Blake, DJ and CP3 would be sick! They'd still have some cap flexibility if they can shop Kaman.

I think before it's all said and done, the Blazers will Amnesty BRoy. It's almost like they have to. I'd say after the first time he goes down or can't play during a back to back to back...you'll hear rumblings.

                      2011- $14.9M
                      2012- $16.3M
                      2013- $17.8M (Player Option)
                      2014- $19.1M (Team Option)

How do you keep an injury prone player around at those kind of numbers?

Remember, they only have until the 24th to amnesty Roy so if he's still on the roster afterwards, get hurt(again)and has to miss significant time, they're stuck with him until July.

But the real question is....do they NEED to cut him NOW? Like do they need his cap space or is their cap situation pretty good?

Not saying they have to, but it appears they have a chance to steal him. That is unless LAC or GSW makes a push.

I didn't know you couldn't amnesty after that date. I thought you could do it anytime.

Welp, with them sticking with BRoy and offering Oden $8M, I don't feel sorry for the woes the Blazers will continue to go through. They don't learn.

They don't have any assets to steal him. And they never said they would trade for him. In fact, they've never even mentioned CP3.

                              @bigeast

As a person with a lot more insight into the Knicks' situation than I, do you think Amare can get it done for NY, or will they need a legit center and move him to the 4?

I don't think they have to go the "Big 3" route. You have Chauncey's expiring contract @ $14MM give or take. I would just let that roll off and go after a big like Kaman and a PG like Kyle Lowry next summer. I know they want to make NY star power central and they wanna win now, so that'll never happen. I just don't think they need CP3 in order to contend for a championship.

If you go with the former solution, you can still have some depth retaining guys like Douglas, Fields and Walker.
