I like the idea of Grant coming off the bench. I wouldn't take Landry out of the starting lineup.

I'm not against it. Landry really struggled to fit when we got Melo. He's not quick enough to guard SGs. Sometimes you can tell he's really playing out of position.

Even if Magic entertain offers from teams willing to take him sans extension, the deal that they put out there likely won't have higher value than the one I've been pushing. And no one is absorbing Arenas 60 million without Dwight extending. Magic will be faced with accepting Pau is not on the table and taking that package, finding a deal they somehow like better than what the Lakers have (with the team having knowledge that Dwight has not or is not extending), or losing Dwight for nothing. Patience is all Mitch needs to have.

I'm not ever going to give up Pau in this deal, so we can negotiate till the bitter end if you'd like., but it's not changing. Your call. We'd love Dwight but we refuse to add Pau in with the pieces the Magic have to offer. Bynum, Odom, Artest, and whatever you want from draft picks."

Only snag would be a team willing to do the New Jersey Boogey and trade big with risk. And I still believe the Nyets should take that risk. But I have Bynum package being more appealing than Brook package. And I'll take Mitch in a GM battle between those three.

I agree with everything there although if we give up Artest they better give us a wingman back. I'll take Mitch over any GM right now.

[B][I]Grant Hill’s interest in joining the Knicks and being slotted as their starting shooting guard on a potential Eastern Conference contender is growing by the day, and there is a sense he is leaning toward that option.

The Bulls and Clippers have been mentioned as possible landing spots for Hill, who has played the past three seasons with the Suns.
Knicks do make sense and though I don't really see how Hill would be the SG but I'd definitely bench Landry for him.

I think CP3 will get dealt first and once he finds a new home, you'll see more offers for Dwight.

            First official amnesty casualty:

The Spurs have decided to use the amnesty clause on contract of Richard Jefferson, league sources tell Y! Sports. He has 3 years, $30M left.

I like Barnes, I think he will come back motivated and ready to play after having to sit alot last year. He can defend, he hustles every game, and he's a good rebounder at the 3. Just would need a backup wing for the 2 and 3, not sure where it happens, but as it stands I'm not going to turn that deal down because I'm losing Artest on the wing. I'm sure the Lakers can find someone who can fill in off the bench with the MLE

3 years at 30 million? No one.

If he hits FA though, I'd imagine quite a few teams would like him for a price.

I like Barnes to but if we lose Artest we'd have no back up SF unless we get a 3 via Free agency who probably would be worse than Artest. That or hope Ebanks has a breakout year. I forgot we probably need a back up 2 since Brown will likely leave...
and lol you never turn down Dwight Howard because there are one too many Artest being asked for...sorry still laughing at that thing you said earlier. In fact that is my new sig untill CP3 gets traded.

I wonder if any contenders take a flier on RJ assuming he becomes an UFA

                      I sure as hell wouldn't

Remember this is amnesty. I could see a team offering to pay 3 yrs for 15 and winning the auction for him.

Still don't agree with this notion, but I'll say this. They better hope it gets done by January 1st. If they don't get that deal done before the start of the season, it's gonna drag to the trade deadline and I'd bet money that Bynum gets hurt again this year and if he has another year of injury that's a wrap for his high profile trade value. I personally don't think he'll ever reach this superstar status that you seem convinced he'll be cause he will never be healthy in his career, but if the Lakers are going to get Howard without including Pau in the deal, it's gonna have to happen before Bynum steps foot on the court.

That is very very lenient of you, I would be surprised even by dumb NBA GM standards if someone bids on him for that much.

IMO he will get a low bid, or become an UFA

I wouldn't be surprised if he played decently on a non contending team, but I'd be shocked and stunned if he went to a contender and played well even in a limited role.

What about 3 for 10 mil. You wouldnt take a 3mil a year flyer on Jefferson?

I personally think he'll get a two year deal max at 3-4 mill a year

If I'm either a rebuilding/playoff/title contending team, there's no way I give this guy 3 years guaranteed money. That's just crazy, IMO.

Would I take him on the Lakers? No. Not even if they needed a SF.

As far as other teams? If I was a contender, depending on what their needs were I probably wouldn't either, specifically if they were gonna need to depend on RJ for more than a role player's role.
