The only way the Lakers trade Pau is if Mitch caves and just says whatever it takes to get Dwight. If he remains patient and isn't afraid of Dwight going elsewhere, the Bynum Odom Artest deal can get it done. I just don't see a deal stronger, especially while needing Howard to sign off on it. Even if Magic entertain offers from teams willing to take him sans extension, the deal that they put out there likely won't have higher value than the one I've been pushing. And no one is absorbing Arenas 60 million without Dwight extending. Magic will be faced with accepting Pau is not on the table and taking that package, finding a deal they somehow like better than what the Lakers have (with the team having knowledge that Dwight has not or is not extending), or losing Dwight for nothing. Patience is all Mitch needs to have.
"Look, the last thing Orlando needs is a melo scenario playing out all year. I'm not ever going to give up Pau in this deal, so we can negotiate till the bitter end if you'd like., but it's not changing. Your call. We'd love Dwight but we refuse to add Pau in with the pieces the Magic have to offer. Bynum, Odom, Artest, and whatever you want from draft picks."
Only snag would be a team willing to do the New Jersey Boogey and trade big with risk. And I still believe the Nyets should take that risk. But I have Bynum package being more appealing than Brook package. And I'll take Mitch in a GM battle between those three.

So it looks like Hill could still be open to joining another club. The Knicks make sense, if he can play the shooting guard. Man they would be a hell of a fun team with Grant.
[B][I]Grant Hill’s interest in joining the Knicks and being slotted as their starting shooting guard on a potential Eastern Conference contender is growing by the day, and there is a sense he is leaning toward that option.
The Bulls and Clippers have been mentioned as possible landing spots for Hill, who has played the past three seasons with the Suns.Comment

I think CP3 will get dealt first and once he finds a new home, you'll see more offers for Dwight.[NYK|DAL|VT]

First official amnesty casualty:
The Spurs have decided to use the amnesty clause on contract of Richard Jefferson, league sources tell Y! Sports. He has 3 years, $30M left.

I like Barnes, I think he will come back motivated and ready to play after having to sit alot last year. He can defend, he hustles every game, and he's a good rebounder at the 3. Just would need a backup wing for the 2 and 3, not sure where it happens, but as it stands I'm not going to turn that deal down because I'm losing Artest on the wing. I'm sure the Lakers can find someone who can fill in off the bench with the MLE

and lol you never turn down Dwight Howard because there are one too many Artest being asked for...sorry still laughing at that thing you said earlier. In fact that is my new sig untill CP3 gets traded.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
IMO he will get a low bid, or become an UFA
I wouldn't be surprised if he played decently on a non contending team, but I'd be shocked and stunned if he went to a contender and played well even in a limited role.Comment

That is very very lenient of you, I would be surprised even by dumb NBA GM standards if someone bids on him for that much.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
If I'm either a rebuilding/playoff/title contending team, there's no way I give this guy 3 years guaranteed money. That's just crazy, IMO.
Would I take him on the Lakers? No. Not even if they needed a SF.
As far as other teams? If I was a contender, depending on what their needs were I probably wouldn't either, specifically if they were gonna need to depend on RJ for more than a role player's role.Comment
