Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Find me a source that claims that Boston didn't want some type of assurance from CP3 or "CP3s agent" that he would extend with them? Yeah we heard they were "willing" to do it without an extension, but we don't know one way or the other. Definitively.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
From A. Sherrod Blakely (@SherrodbCSN)
"#Celtics were confident they were on the verge of landing Paul. Source says they were already planning a physical for him."
Reporters in Boston are getting word from the Celtics FO that the Celtics offered Rondo, Green, 2 firsts (including the Clippers pick this year), and Avery Bradley. The Hornets liked this deal the best, approved the trade, but CP3 nixed the deal and threatened to not show up at camp if he wasn't dealt to the Lakers. This lines up with Stern saying he didn't want CP3 to be able to dictate where he goes.
Also, to those upset who say the deal was fair in terms of the players NOH was receiving, that is not the issue. The issue is that NOH was having to TAKE ON $15 mil in salary to make the deal work financially for LA. So LA was shifting their bad salary cap situation onto a league owned team. This means the owners would be on the hook for that $15 mil, and they balked.Last edited by Drewski; 12-09-2011, 03:19 AM.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

And you can't be serious. Bynum was irrelevant in both Finals wins. He had like 1 good game out of 13.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
There is no excuse for CP3 not to show up to camp. If the Celtics thought he was going to sign an extension (and all evidence from the media suggests the contrary), then that's their fault and CP3 still has to show up and play for them. He can't use "well, I'm not signing an extension with them" as an excuse to not show up to training camp. He shows up, leaves at the end of the season and signs with whatever team he wants in FA. That's the mature thing to do.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
There is also a small handful of teams that has informed the Hornets they are prepared to trade for Paul with no assurance that they can keep him beyond this season. That list, sources say, includes the Rockets, Boston Celtics and defending champion Dallas Mavericks.
There is rising sentiment within the New Orleans Hornets' organization to trade Chris Paul before the 2011-12 season even starts if he hasn't signed an extension with the team by then, according to sources close to the situation.
Or do you want me to find a quote from Danny Ainge? Don't you think that there'd be reports that the Celtics don't want to gamble on him? It's not like trading Rondo was a spur of the moment idea, his name was being shopped around for the last few days.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Derek Fisher, Kobe Bryant, Andrew Bynum. Yeah Bynums D on Howard was completely irrelevant. As was his rebounding and efficiency in limited touches that clearly didn't put his offense to use but used him to do what centers do.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

No, only the owners get any way where the players go and that's just the way it goes. You must go to Boston and you must give our front office word you will stay so we can inform their front office.
Your sources are all "the source". The same "the sources" all of you guys lol @ from twitter and ESPN. Same dance, what makes that any different?Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

Kobe was drafted by the Hornets bud.
Bynum's efficiency? 36% from the field and 4 RPG?
Impressive. I understand liking a guy, but at least call a spade a spade.
I guess you also forget the Lakers double teaming Dwight pretty much every time he touched the ball and he still dominated the glass.Last edited by 1Rose; 12-09-2011, 03:28 AM.Comment

Apparently his representatives have told the Nets he wants to go there. Has he ever been to Newark? It's not a fun place to be lol
So much for that no cold weather theory.
Still think the Bulls should try and throw a wrench in all their plans and really take hold of the East.
3? I count 2.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
If the NBA ruins the Hornets as a Franchise by not allowing him to be traded before the deadline then I will honestly never watch another NBA game again.
Granted not sure how much that'd ruin the Franchise seeing we'd suck really really bad next year, we'd just have draft a stud.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
