I rather have him stay and leave via FA than take back these huge salaries for a middle of the pack teams. This trade kills basketball in New Orleans.
You looking at the Chair MAN!

Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.

I'd rather hang onto him, and let him walk at the end of the season, then have sign somewhere (LA/NY) for less money. lol.

I kind of wish there was a stipulation in the new CBA that would allow no more than 1 max contract per team, and the next highest contract could be 80% of max, etc.

I emailed Mark Cuban with one question: What am I missing? It took a while to get to the question. The email started with my take on his Mavericks’ recent moves, or lack thereof: It appears that their logic is that the team’s long-term outlook is better if they attempt to reload next summer instead of bringing a championship team back intact to defend its title.

I'd rather buy a team that has viable players than a team that lost its superstar for nothing. And as for the leagues 29 owners paying 15 mil amongst themselves that's 500,000 per owner.

And losing him next year for nothing doesn't kill ball in NO?

Don't they have to have around 40-50 mil in salary anyway because of the new rules? Do you think 10 mil is going to keep someone from buying that team?

Yes sir 46.4 million is the minimum salary requirement.

                    Edit: obviously for basketball reasons

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

They're already over the cap with that trade when someone buys them and as we've seen clearly now. People are buying sports teams looking to make money. Like Throne said, they're better off sucking for high draft picks than making the playoffs as an eighth seed every year with no chance at all of actually winning anything and drafting in the 16 to 20 range of the draft.

It's funny honestly. We clown the Hawks every year in this forum for being a five or six seed and only being able to get to the second round of the playoffs every year with nothing to show for it, but the almighty Lakers have a trade blocked where they make out like bandits and now it's okay for the Hornets to basically be a crappier version of the Atlanta Hawks.

Lakers gave up alot. Not the Lakers fault they have those assets. Hardly a steal, actually very risky.

Your overvalue of Bynum might be more absurd.

In retrospect, Lakers traded for the pick and picked Kobe. LAKERS MADE THE PICK. The trade was agreed to before the pick was made, all that is fact. SMH.

You will do anything to hate on LA, won't you?

lol @ people using semantics to say kobe isn't a homegrown lakers talent. grasping at straws with that one.

in other news: brandon roy is retiring.
