I meant, as soon as this summer, they can possibly add another top option player since Nene is gone.

Obviously with Nene there, they were gonna be stuck with that roster for a while. And let's face it, they weren't going nowhere.

So either this Nene trade makes them suck so bad that they end up with cap room and a lottery pick OR the team continues to win and still has cap room. Staying the way they were makes them unable to sign Chandler, a mid level playoff team and a team thats lucky to make it the second round. Denver fans have seen that before. I think they want more and the only way to do that is to bring in new players either through the draft or cap room.
Being in the playoffs gives your team a chance to compete for a championship. People would have to be idiots to think that if their team was an 8th seed they automatically are a championship contender.

So...they should just tank the season rather than making the playoffs?

      *** backwards IMO.

I thought you meant this season. I agree that long term, this probably is the best move for Denver.

Apparently your expectations are lower than others.

They are still a winning team without him btw.
My expectations are higher than what the Denver management did today.

You can be a #1 seed and never win anything.

Like I said man, we kill teams like Atlanta for doing this SAME exact strategy but yet when Denver address the situation, they're ****ing up.

People forget there's really only 2 places for a NBA team to go: And that's either be really good or really bad and if you're really bad. You NEVER want to be in the middle, otherwise you're in Atlanta Hawk, Philadelphia Sixer territory.

He's a hustle guy. He never got any burn here in Houston really ever since Dalembert started playing like a grown man.

He can scrap for boards but his range is limited. Footwork is somewhat mechanical but he's got a nice touch around the rim. Not a world beater but he's better than McRoberts I'd say and whatever that thing is that the Lakers are calling "Troy Murphy"

The deal for Chandler being discussed would be only a 6M per year deal.
The Denver Nuggets are closing in on a long-term deal with restricted free agent Wilson Chandler, according to sources with knowledge of the talks.

Nuggets didn't give up. They just got Rid of their 3rd best player for cap Space and flexibility. and for the Short term if there's anybody to get the most out of McGee It's George Karl.

It seems like your laughing at the notion you can't build around Gallo and Lawson. Future All Star type players IMO.

Tell it to a team like Milwaukee who would kill just to make the playoffs and be an 8th seed. What it does for a city. For a fanbase.

I don't give a crap about Atlanta. They have good players. That is not the same situation in Denver because Atlanta has multiple good players so they feel that they can get out of the 1st & 2nd rounds.

Nothing to do with trolling. That was the reasoning from people here.

As a fan...I want my team to be competitive. If they make the playoffs...I consider that competitive. If they get bounced...oh well.

But to downgrade your team for "cap reasons" when you're in the middle of a playoff push is assanine IMO.

People talking about luxury taxes and complimentary players like Wilson Chandler.

                          It boggles my mind.

I'm okay with disagreeing with everybody on here. But I don't want management pissing on diehard fans and calling it rain.

I respect what Portland did today. They made no bones about it and cleared house.

These other teams pressed the panic button and F'd their franchises...IMO.
Despite 15 different people breaking this thing down, you still stretch what they say to an exaggerated level to keep posting the same thing. For the life of me I don't understand why but that's not against the TOS.

Posting crap like "salary cap" as a response to non-related posts in this thread however is trolling (and pretty immature to boot) so please make that the first and last time.

Not surprised, they were only going to sign him on their terms and he wasn't going to make more than Gallinari.

I don't even think Nene was our 3rd best player this year. More like a 5th behind Gallo,Lawson, Afflalo, and Harrington(lol).

I don't agree that it's championship or bust. Obviously that's what people want, but like I said earlier, it's not realistic. You have to allow teams to build and grow. You think the Bulls in the late 80s were saying "oh, we're a meddling team who cant get to the Finals so **** it, let's just blow it up then"? No.

You get NOTHING by constantly tearing down your team. For God's sake look at some of the teams that have made a habit of this. Consistency is key.

You can't go from last to first each time. You don't breed a winning culture by losing.

LOL I'm done man because using logic with you is clearly impossible since you choose to ignore it in this case.

Only in the NBA where people get pissed for not building around a 30 y/o player with health issues who has not been living up to his contract only to trade for future flexibility.

Just for the record, I'd KILL for my team to make the playoffs this year as well. Even if they got swept I'd be satisfied with that. But eventually, I'm going to want more than just "getting in" the playoffs. I want to results IE trip(S) to the Finals with at least a championship. So you'll have to excuse me if my expectations are a bit higher than yours just because I refuse to "settle" for just being IN the playoffs as opposed to building a legit contender. And I'm almost certain I'm not alone in this aspect either.
