Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
I see.. I'm sick of hearing about potential though.. If they didn't produce in college how could they in the NBA? You've sold me on why I DON'T want Tony Wroten on my Hornets... I've changed him from OJ Mayo, to the forever team-changing, J.R. SmithHe has the talent, size, and potential along with athleticism and other measurable to be a top 5 point guard. I remember one college analyst saying that Tony Wroten doesn't realize how good Tony Wroten is. I mean honestly his talent is up there yet everything hasn't clicked and coalesced enough yet. He's a project, he's essentially the Point Guard verson of Andre Drummond.Saints Pelicans Tigers CowboysComment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
This is my Bobcats plan for draft night and beyond.
Draft Robinson either at 2 or 4. Get another shooter. Sign Jamison (he said he wanted to play in Charlotte to end his career, from here.)
Commit to the suck for one more year.
2012/2013 Lineup
Kemba/meh
Henderson/Gordon
Jamison/Brown/Williams
Robinson/Tyrusmh/Draft pick
Bismack/Mullens
Draft Shabazz
Kemba/Henderson/Shabazz/Robinson/Bismack is a pretty good start.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
why would you move tyrus thomas to a backup PF instead of starting him at C over BIYOMBO.... ( who is undersized at 6'9 for center ) if you're gonna waste thomas like that might as well trade him...This is my Bobcats plan for draft night and beyond.

More on Tony Wroten:
According to Synergy Sports, he only made 3/24 shots when he had his feet SET.
Wroten starts shooting at 3:40 below:

Cavs squeezing in a late workout with Terrance Ross.
Also, starting to sound like the Cavs are locking in on MKG. The Ross stuff, as a Cavs fan, is more interesting. Ross is a 10-15 pick in this draft. Looks like they are looking to trade up. Undoubtedly it'd be Varejao and the 24th.Too Old To Game Club

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Not to mention Cody Zeller. He's so polished at his age. One more year at Indiana and I could see him being a top 3 prospect as well. The top should be heavy next year. So a top 3 pick could net you Muhammad Shabazz next year. Either way a top 3 pick and your looking at a guy with a ton of upside. You looking at the Chair MAN!
Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Except Shumpert can make the occasional 3 and is a streaky shooter in general.
Wroten is consistently bad at shooting and will continue to be bad if he doesn't fix his form. This also extends to his free-throws of which he shot 55%. The frequency of which he goes to the free-throw line (I think he took the most FT's out of all the guards in the draft) is kinda negated when he's only making half of them.
Now, I will say this. He is freakishly good at reading and playing the passing lanes on defense. It helps that his wingspan is enormous (6'9) but his anticipation is top notch. If he commits to defense he'll see plenty of floor time regardless of his ability to shoot.
Anyway, Wroten is ,potential wise, the best PG in this draft taking into account his potential as a defender. And he's the biggest guard there in terms of muscle mass aside from Beal.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
My only question about Wroten is if a professional shooting coach(es) can fix his shot and make it so you can't completely back off of him on offense. Rondo has found other ways to score besides his jumpshot. Wroten likes to attack the rim too, but his FT shooting needs a lot of work (like Rondo when he came into the NBA). I can see him being a perfect pick for a team with a decent PG already in place where he can backup and learn and give his coaches time to work on his game. Maybe a team in the 15-30 range. In a couple years, he could be one of the better picks in the draft if he can just become an average shooter.Except Shumpert can make the occasional 3 and is a streaky shooter in general.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Wow, the only scenario that's even possible IMO is to trade with Charlotte, Washington, Cleveland, or Sacramento. I will be shocked if he falls to 6 or 7. Hard to believe the Bulls like him THAT much IMO too.The Bulls have had discussions with teams about trading Luol Deng for a chance to move into the lottery to pick up North Carolina’s Harrison Barnes in Thursday night’s draft.
I already knew that no team would be dumb enough to take on his contract, but it doesn't hurt to check. Like Marino said, "Never underestimate the stupidity of NBA GMs"According to multiple sources, the Bobcats are trying to convince teams interested in the second pick to also take back disappointing power forward Tyrus Thomas, who has more than $26 million remaining on his contract. Thomas is coming off the worst season since his rookie year as he averaged just 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds. When asked if teams would be willing to touch Thomas, one Western Conference executive said, “I don’t think so.”
As Thursday’s draft draws near, the Wizards are discovering that No. 3 is in demand. According to two league sources, the Wizards have been fielding calls in recent days from teams interested in moving up to possibly select Kansas big man and District native Thomas RobinsonYou had to figure the Wiz are trying to protect their play for Beal. Problem is that even if they trade down and someone takes Robinson, Charlotte still gets to choose between MKG and Barnes.Chad Ford: Wizards want to make Bobcats nervous that if they trade 2 to Clev for 4 & 24, TRob, the guy the Cats covet, might not be there.
