Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
He's smaller and not as explosive as Wade, but it's kinda freaky how close their ball handling and "signature moves" look alike. I still see Rodney Stuckey, but I think he could, best case scenario, be something like Wade.Too Old To Game Club

Dude...I'm gonna try to be nice right here.
But the very FIRST question she asked a 9 year old was...(now think about Thomas Robinson and his well publicized story...just think about it for a second, okay):

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
For the record, I think Zeller will be an above-average starting center in the NBA. And I think Waiters is a piece. Just don't think he's THE piece. What he did in his career at Syracuse just screams Jason Terry-role in my opinion. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think he and Austin Rivers will end up being equals in the NBA (not that they're the same player but that they'll be about as good as each other overall).#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Starting to come around on the Cavs draft. Ironically I tweeted out right before the draft last night "Alright let's watch the #Cavs **** the entire franchise in a matter of 15 minutes #DionWaiters". That God guy, he's pretty tricky haha. But in all seriousness, after actually evaluating and coming down from 14 hours of pure shell-shock, it's not a bad pick. Waiters was the highest rated wing player in Hollinger's draft rater (that thing is surprisingly semi-accurate). If he would have played 35 min. a game he would have put up 20 easily. Guys can always work on their form and shot. I like that he already can attack the rack at any time he wants. God, does anyone remember LeBron's first couple years? Talk about throwing up prayers from deep. That was the biggest knock on his game was he couldn't shoot the 3. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago: he's not too shabby. So I'm coming around on the Waiters pick. I think he actually pairs well with Kyrie. He'll have the ability to drive and dish to Tristan for dunks (excited to see that). For the Zeller trade, I like it too. He was a 10-15 guy, rated behind Drummond by most so getting him for only scrapping 2 guys that would have been battling Manny Harris for D-League rights I'm not mad about. Is it a great draft? No. Is it a good draft? Yeah. I'll definitely take it. Most of the analysts I've listened to this morning and last night after the draft say they were surprised by the pick but overall the Cavs had a good draft. I agree. I'm excited to see how we look this fall.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Especially if they weren't too hot on the prospects they could have had at the other picks they traded away
I was just about to ask Dallas fans what they thought of their coup? Besides Cunningham whom I think was a pretty solid pick, the other two... I just didn't like those picks whatsoever. But I guess they wanted veteran rookie guys to help them out immediately since they will be in the playoffs.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
1. Nobody has ever thought the Clippers nor the Wolves have great management are are good places for players. Nothing has changed, can you point to anyone saying that those places are great places to play?
2. Calling MKG an Iggy prototype is quite a stretch. As college prospects they are pretty different. Other than having long arms, being solid defenders and questionable jumpshooting, they are nothing alike.
3. There's still a more than decent chance you'll be the worst in the league. Not trying to be mean or anything, but which teams do you honestly see being worse?
2. They are very similar and MKG has a higher motor in my opinion and was restricted in UK, like Anthony Davis. MKG had a role to play and played it well. And all of these comments about his game I think will fuel him.
3. Idk if we will be the worst team in the league. Every year there is a team that is shockingly bad. You don't what the Nets are going to be like or the Magic. I wouldn't be shocked if we are the one of the 5 worst teams lol. But not the worstThe Buzz is Back in the Queen City. Cho........I have no idea what you are going to do in this draft man.Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
Some more thoughts:
Wizards gonna be great in about two years. They have a very solid team. Finally some smart drafting.
Sac-Town lucked into Robinson. Good for them, bad for Thomas. Robinson and Cousins could be a very good duo in the future.
Harrison Barnes at GSW is just a weird fit.
Lillard...meh. I think the Blazers could have done better.
Terrance Ross was a HUGE HUGE HUGE reach in the top 10. And why Toronto? They think he can play SF? Odd pick.
I love and hate Drummond to Detroit. I think he and Monroe are a perfect fit for each other and I hate it that the Cavs are in the same division as them.
Hornets were obvious winners of the draft. They got a good play making SG and the best PF prospect to come out since Bosh, IMO. Some serious talent coming out there.
Houston...I have no idea what you are doing. Royce White AND Terrance Jones? I guess they are praying one of those guys hit and they get a PF. I don't know, but man...that's a gamble.
Best pick out of the top ten? I think it's Kendall Marshall to Phoenix. What a perfect freaking fit. If they could get Nash to finish his career with the Suns and mentor Kendall, then I'd REALLY love that pick. Run and Gun Suns will continue. Awesome.
Still can't believe Moe Harkless was drafted at 15. Miles Plumlee in the first damn round? Wowzers.Too Old To Game Club

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
1. Media and crazy fans have me saying this. Clippers get Blake and all of a sudden they are a great destination. T'Wolves get Love and they are a popular up and coming team. Media based Kahn and now they say he drafts well.
But not the worst
As far as MKG and Iggy, out of college I feel like Iggy was a run and jump athlete who played above the rim and in transition. I don't see MKG as that run and jump guy, but I do think MKG thrives in transition as opposed to half court..Comment

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
The thing is, the draft to me was unique. Basically after Davis/Beal, everyone sort of had the same value as prospects, regardless of which selection you had. So even though they traded up, Cleveland knew what they wanted and had to ensure they got him. At first it seemed like a stretch, but if they really wanted this guy I don't actually see the problem...

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion
I have a feeling Zeller will get man handled by Drummond. However, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and hold out yet and say, I'm excited to see this battle because before the draft I was in the camp that we take Barnes and move up to get Drummond or take Drummond and move back up for a wing. So I'm upset we didn't get him, I hope Zeller can show his worth.Comment
