    Re: Nuggest vs Cavaliers

God this game is horrendous. The Cavs are going away from their strength's. Playing Bremer who if he was half the player he thinks he is, would average a triple double. Ilgauskas, although young, and pretty mobile for a true Center, needs to let the game come to him.

In the plays that Lebron actaully gets a touch, the passes are way too late for him to do anything. A lot of the shots he has missed, is because the other players on the court, get the ball to him with 3 seconds on the shotclock, expecting him to do something with it.

They have the talent needed to win, and they desperately need to rethink their situation. Silas really needs to take a look at what is going on, and actually use your players correctly. This is just crazy.

Bremer is a hometown stop-gap until the more talented Wagner is healthy. I see Bremer becoming a Bobby Jackson/Nick VanExel type of shoot first ask questions later spark off the bench player in a few years but as for now..bleh.

Ricky Davis has immense talent but very little discipline. He may never reach his potential. He's a lead-pipe lock to turn the ball over at least once in the fourth quarter.

The Cavs have talent, but they NEED ball players. Booze is a ball player. Miles is not. Ollie is a ball player. Davis is not. Too much athleticism without CONTROL, not enough basketball smarts on the roster....

      Oh well.

A lot of questionable choices in my opinion. The offense ran through Z and no matter how many players collapsed around him he refused to pass. James wasn't involved in the offense, stood on the weak side and lost interest. Instead of having the ball in his hands Bremer and Ollie ran the point. The The team was flat and played with no heart. The short time Diop was involved he attempted to play defensive while no body else cared.
All that and they only lost by 5. If they pretended like they wanted to win they had a chance. Go figure.

                  Re: Nuggest vs Cavaliers

Great analysis deadman. I agree wholeheartedly. If it were up to me, I would spend more time working with Diop on the floor, as "Z" just refuses to get involved in the team game. He shows great potential to be a great Eastern Conference center, but until he realizes that he needs to play with a team mentality, I would say limit his touches. The offense needs to run through James.

Tonight was just an instance of what I fear we are going to see this year. The Cavaliers going away from their true Playmaker, and not getting James involved in the play. Becoming to "ME, ME, ME" oriented on the offensive end, and I don't even know if they had a defensive game. Davis will not become a great player, but he has the talent to. "Z" will continue to use his "ME" mentality, and will demise into a center with great passing ability, but does not want to play with his team.

Lebron is probably the best all around player on the team, and if Silas works with the team, and let them know not to be intimidated by the young fellas game, then they will be a contender within the next year or two. This year, they will make the changes needed, and if not, then they will win another 17 games this season.

They have the opportunity to win 35-40 games this year, IF... they run through Lebron, and let him create.... with freestyle.

Seriously, come on Silas, get Bremer off the floor, make Miles understand that he still can't shoot, let Davis know that he has talent, but he needs to play to his strengths, and to "Z", play with the heart that Diop does, and the team mentality that Lebron has, and he will be a great Center.

On another note, anyone impressed by Diop?

Unfortunately, the Cavs have NO other deep threat besides Kopono, who's a defensive liability. The plan is to keep Bremer on the floor to stretch the D so teams can't pack the lane. Downside is Bremer's just not consistent yet..

Silas told Miles that if he doesnt start putting up open shots he would sit the bench, period. He knows Miles doesnt have any range at this point but he wants Miles to first stop being hesitant taking it. Miles is too laid back in a half-court set, Silas wants Miles to be aggressive. This will be painful to watch...

Silas traded Ricky from Charlotte to Miami after a number of run-ins. If he couldn't reach rookie Ricky, he aint gonna reach wannabe-Jordan Ricky.....

and to "Z", play with the heart that Diop does, and the team mentality that Lebron has, and he will be a great Center.

In the first 3 games Illga only took 33 shots, but only averaged 1 apg. Tonight I think they tried to take advantage of his size advantage, but your right, Ill needs much better court awareness.
