I wonder how legit those numbers are, i feel like there is no possible way that many people would buy season tickets. Im not trying to stir the pot by questioning the legitimacy but honestly anyone could request, how many people actually have committed money?

Re: Agreement for new Seattle arena reached

Im joining this post and im reading a lot of good stuff from both sides. Im so fed up with this situation, i live in downtown sacramento and i can honestly say this city needs this, and its more than just basketball at this point, it can bring this city up and create tons of jobs. Im not gonna attack seattle fans because im obviously bias and really these are two great nba cities that were screwed over. The maloofs are just the worst, Sacramento supported this team through thick and thin, sold out most years the kings have been here and since about 2007 attendance went down, because everyone here could see what the maloofs were doing, they blew up the team with no intention of rebuilding, we have been dealing with are the kings gonna for 7 years or so, are they are gonna move to anahiem, las vegas, virgina beach, insert city here. Im glad this is finally coming to a head, this city has been dragged along for long enough. The last thing i want is the kings to move but at least it would be to another great nba city. Really im just angry with the maloofs and the nba for letting it get to this. Thats my 2 cents if anyone cares, just needed to get it off my chance through a bunch of run on sentences

Yeah, there's no commitment, so it is pretty misleading. And I believe it's the equivalent of 44,000 season tickets through full season tickets, multi game packs, single game tickets, etc.

I think the point to take from it is to show the BOG that it's 4 times larger than Sacramento doing the same thing with the Here We Stay list. And there are nearly 900 more businesses interested in sponsoring than KJ was able to drum up.

The number that blew my mind was the 6,000 hits per second when the priority list opened. It's hard to quantify, but that's an amazing representation of interest.

That would be amazingly awesome if Sac and Seattle both got to have NBA teams.

Oh yeah (I forgot the man is retiring in a year,) but main thing is he really wants big market to succeed for revenue and never truly cared for Sactown... Though Seattle isn't a big city like NY, LA, CHI, or MIA, he certainly will care for it more than SAC since its a more appealing city because of the tourism and other sports around Seattle...

We really gonna try to pretend like David Stern gives a **** about Seattle? If that was even partly accurate we wouldn't be talking about this right now cause a team would already be in Seattle.

If there's expansion, I see Seattle getting the Kings and the Kings getting a team when they are further along in their arena deal (similar to the Browns/Ravens deal). The Kings whole package of potential owners and arena deal is extremely patchwork at this point and constantly changing. Their only billionaire backed out on Monday, their new majority owner owns stake in the Warriors and has to sell before he can own the Kings (the BOG meets next Friday), they don't even own the land they want to build on, the county has never in writing committed to the $600k/yr KJ is asking for, and EVERYTHING at this point is non-binding. Last time I checked, businesses with billion dollar revenues don't operate off non-binding agreements between multiple entities.

They simply need more time to work through the process, because at this point, from a business perspective, the Seattle package crushes the Sacramento package.

The only thing that I see keeping the Kings for '13-14 is sentimentality. Which I consider a longshot.

I really hope you're right that Sac would get a team back soon, assuming the Kings come to Seattle to become the Sonics. Sac has such a devoted fan base, but it does sound like the business side of things needs to be put in order to get a team back in there.

Can the NBA really support more teams, though? Seems like revenues aren't what they used to be. The 90s seemed to be 'golden age' for the NBA (fond memories of Payton lobbing to Kemp notwithstanding). When Garnett got his big contract, that's when the cracks seemed to start to appear for the NBA's financials.

Yay, expansion, so the league can be watered down even more. Great idea.

You are working off of old information. The last lockout, new contract and salary cap rules and the end of the recession have the NBA in great shape financially.

I don't think there will be expansion, just if there is, I think that's the most likely option.

I think the odds are higher for the Bucks or Pacers to relocate before the league expands.
