Well Regardless of when they go to seattle. The New Sonics will have Phil Jackson running the team. He will build a contender in no time.

From what I'm told he will be GM/Team President any truth to this or just rumors?

If this is true, Seattle is gonna exploded with Excitement, even if Phil is GM/Team Pres. We all know what he can do.

If I can get to where I can see past the Bulls/Lakers stigma, LOL.

Really? Last I checked their is no MJ or Kobe on Kings/Sonics on the roster. Since when did Phil Jackson build a team?

My own connection makes it especially poignant. Cuz this could've been New Orleans.
If it wasn't for how bad it would've looked on the heels of Katrina, it probably would've been the Hornets. They struggle financially, and there is no long term history there. Clay Bennett originally wanted to buy them for OKC, but the league said no. Even the with the recent sale, the league is still obsessed with staying in New Orleans.

                  Exactly.

Thought NBA fans should know by now that greatness on the court doesn't always make someone a great evaluator of talent.

I can't wait to listen to the Kevin Calabro show this afternoon. I bet he is on Cloud 9.

He better be taking a 'Magic Carpet ride' back to the Sonics pbp position.

I don't know where you guys are getting all this Phil Jackson stuff from because according to Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo Sports the owners are looking at Larry Bird or RC Buford (Spurs GM) to run the team:

                      Linky link

BTW i'm really happy to see Seattle get their team back but it's a little sad to see Sacramento lose their team. I remember back in the day when that franchise was dueling it in out in the playoffs and Arco Arena was a nuthouse full of noise. That arena really had a college atmosphere to it.

I'm obviously excited beyond belief, but feel terrible for the city of Sacramento. I'm not going to really freak out until the team actually moves, because I don't trust a damn thing Stern or the Maloofs say or do.

LOVE Calabro...really, there isn't a better announcer that I've heard in the NBA. Really enjoyed it when he worked with Marques Johnson, great pair those two.

Hopefully we'll get the same PA announcer in the arena as before, too.

I don't think that is what's being said. I think what they are saying is just because you've coached great talent, doesn't automatically imply that you can evaluate it coming out college.
