I hate this. Sacramento fans deserve better. The Magoof brothers deserve to be booed and hated on big time for this. The way how I see it, they dont care about trying to run a basketball team anymore. They seem more like they want to have fun and live the life of playboys. If and when this move happens, a lot of jobs will be loss which will hurt the city of California even more. Of course, this will be a joy for Seattle and their fans but I still think no one wins in this case.

CenturyLink Field (Seattle Seahawks) and Safeco Field (Seattle Mariners); some really good stadiums architecture-wise. Highly interested in what this new Seattle building would look like. Is Sacramento even working on a new arena deal?? That piece of crap building they have now is astrocious.
They released more info on the arena design today. Interesting timing.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Agreement for new Seattle arena reached
I get where Sacramento fans are coming from, that it's gonna hurt and the team represents your city and all that, but it happens. If it's in the cards, nothing you do can prevent it. Now you know how Sonics fans felt a couple years ago. Other great examples include the Baltimore Colts, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Brooklyn Dodgers, Washington Senators, Winnipeg Jets, Atlanta Flames, Minnesota North Stars, etc.
My point is yeah it sucks, but over time the wounds will heal. It took Baltimore 13 years to get a football team after the Colts left. It took Washington 32 years to get a baseball team when the Senators moved to Texas. Brooklyn still doesn't have their "own" baseball team and the Dodgers moved to LA in 1958.Last edited by TripleCrown9; 01-16-2013, 01:50 PM.Boston Red Sox

Re: Agreement for new Seattle arena reached
The difference here is for all of those teams, those cities were large enough to have a pretty solid chance of either getting a team back or getting a team in another sport. Baltimore got the Colts, the Browns came back, New York regained another baseball team with the Mets, Brooklyn now has another team with the Nets, the Senators finally came back, Winnipeg came back, Atlanta got another team but it had to leave too, and Minnesota got the wild. The chances of Sacramento getting another team seems really unlikely and they don't have another sport there either. At least Seattlites had both other teams to root for and a pretty solid hope that the Sonics would be back, people in Sacramento won't have either of those.Comment

Re: Agreement for new Seattle arena reached
Sacramento fans still have two football teams and two baseball teams to root for. Even if you say they can't be Warriors fans because of they're rivals (fair point) to say Seattle fans had other teams and Sacramento doesn't isn't exactly fair. Sacramento is about an hour and a half outside of Oakland/San Francisco. People from Sacramento are, in my experience, pretty diehard fans of the 49ers and A's/Giants.
P.S. It's funny that when your team is on the brink of leaving, EVERYBODY wants to come support now.Comment

Re: Agreement for new Seattle arena reached
I'm just now starting to realize that the Bay Area has some terrible arenas/stadiums down there... The Niners have Candlestick Park, which is fine... but c'mon son. LMAO @ Raiders playing in the Oakland Coliseum, which is mainly the A's stadium. The Oracle Arena reminds me of the Great Western Forum... Outside of PNC Park (I believe that's what it's called) for the Giants, every other stadium INCLUDING Power Balance Arena which I will always refer to as Arco Arena, is run down.

It's not Power Balance, it's Sleep Train Arena.
Sacramento has never stopped loving the Kings. We have lost faith in our ownership group as they have continuously lied to us. At least I assume that is what you are referring too with your last comment, your reply in this thread is really off the wall so I am not sure.
We are still fighting here in Sacramento..I really hope both cities get a professional basketball team, we both deserve it.Xbox 360 Rosters:

Re: Agreement for new Seattle arena reached
I'm not saying Sacramento doesn't love the Kings... oh no no. I hear what you are saying, but since 2008, the Kings have had the worst attendance record twice (which also includes this season) including second to last once. Whether that's because Sleep Train Arena (smh @ that name) is too small or whether that's fan support I don't know. If its the arena, you would think they would've had plans to buil a new one years ago... which they didn't, which made me believe it was fan support. Whether or not you trust management shouldn't effect whether you come to the teams games and support your squad. The Kings are filling in 75% of their seats, which is the 3rd least, ahead of Detroit and Milwaukee. Seattle, in their last year, only filled up 78% of their seats and had roughly around the same avg. of people attending games as you guys do, but before that, the Sonics were usually in the Top 10.
That, is where my off the wall statement came from.Comment

Re: Agreement for new Seattle arena reached
Rumors of the Maloofs trying to get out of Sacramento aren't new, though. It goes back at least to the '10-11 season. Much like the last season in Seattle, it's hard to expect fans to support a team that's committed to leaving. In Seattle's case, ownership did everything they could to make sure that team was as bad as possible so people didn't show up.Comment
