Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine
Just going up online and via SportsCenter: Raptors and Knicks' RFA Landry Fields have agreed to three-year offer sheet
-Clearly TOR is trying to block a S&T of Fields to Phoenix for NashComment

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012
I would love to have Antwan Jamison here on the Bobcats. Yes he is on the downside of his career, and he probably wouldn't add that many wins for the team, which to be honest, isn't the worse thing in the world. But he can bring some veteran leadership and really help out the young bigs on this team. You can't have a team full of 20 year olds, so Jamison can go with Ben Gordon in adding some veteran depth as well as veteran experience to help teach these youngsters how to play the game the right way.Comment

Steve Kyler @stevekylerNBA
Toronto just made a tactically smart move... agreeing to Offer sheet with Landry Fields takes him out a Knicks S&T for Nash
Ken Berger @KBergCBS
Knicks getting Steve Nash in sign-and-trade was "on life support" before, source says. Fields' agreement with Raps may have "killed it."Chicago Bulls

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012
I believed in Rich Cho as the Blazers GM as well, it's a shame he wasn't allowed a couple years...
On a side note, I came up with a four team trade that would benefit all teams that are looking to shake up their rosters.
Add in one first rounder from the Bulls to the Magic, and I believe it would be a deal... I'll explain for each team
Bulls - You get Dwight Howard, simple as that. I believe being in Chicago with Rose might make him change his mind about signing an extension only in Brooklyn. You also obtain Duhon as depth, even though he is not very good. The downside is you get the terrible contract of Turkoglu, but he would help with point forward duties as Rose is out.
Magic - By adding Noah, Williams, and Gibson the Magic would have a formidable front court with potential. They also would obtain a first rounder from the Bulls. This pick would obviously be late in the draft, but they couldn't ask for much more after they unloaded Turkoglu's contract. Wes Johnson and Martel Webster are just fillers. They are definite buyout/waive candidates. This trade would allow the Magic to not overpay for Ryan Anderson, and they would definitely be looking at a top pick in 2013 to pair with Noah, Williams, and Gibson as building blocks.
Lakers - They trade Pau Gasol (basically their only true PF on contract), for a shooter/defender in Deng, a point guard who would be an upgrade over Blake, and Darko who would provide blocks and passing for the second unit. If they were able to resign Jordan Hill, this would be a great trade.
Wolves - They unload three bad contracts and one potential starter to obtain a quality big man to pair with Love and Pekovic.Comment

Kudos to Toronto: Any time you can spend $20 mill on an 11th man to pave the way to spend $36 mill on a 39 year old PG, you have to do it..

Re: NBA Movement Central 2012
It's a smart move if their only goal is to get Nash to sell tickets. If they are trying to win, it's really stupid. $20 million for Landry Fields.
Unfortunately, them being stupid doesn't change the fact that the Knicks are screwed now.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
