My guess is it would have to be backloaded.

I know the Celtics/Heat played a lot as of late, but I don't buy it being Lakers/Nash level.

Just got home from traveling... Kidd to the Knicks is smart move. I'm hearing 3yrs/9M. Also hearing it might be a possible S&T with the Mavs. Hopefully this is so because it helps the Knicks keep their MLE to sign another player.

Kidd can be a great mentor to Lin & Shumpert in the back court.

See Lin signed the Rockets offer sheet. 4 yrs/30M. I expect the Knicks to match that. Now if we can find ourselves a SG & a Back-up Big we'll be in real good shape

Nah, I would argue the Ray thing is worse. That Celtics/Heat wound is still too fresh for Ray to do something like that.

Plus, not sure why he feels the need to chase if his team is still a contender and he already has a ring.

Oh it's close. The amount of s**t they talk towards each other. The bad blood is thick. My friend's dad is an assistant coach for the Heat and they hate the Celtics.

I agree. I think he will be back. But if he indeed does that. I think it will be dead even with the amount of disgust and hate Nash/Lakers is at right now.

maybe I'm completely off base, idk.

I'm sure the teams hate each other, etc. But I also live in FL where most of the heat fans don't care a majority of the time so hard to get the real rivalry grasp.

                                Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT
Total potential value of Lin's contract is $28.8 mil over four years.
                                Lin:

                                Year 1- $5.0M
                                Year 2- $5.2M
                                Year 3- $9.3M
                                Year 4- $9.3M (Team Option)

That's a team-friendly contract. He'll be easy to ship off if necessary.

                                EDIT-
Aldridge confirms what Knicks fans have been saying about our Year 3:

                                David Aldridge ‏@daldridgetnt
                                In yr 3 of Lin sheet--reportedly $9.3M--Knicks have 3 expiring deals:'Melo ($24.3M), STAT ($23.4M), Chandler ($14.5M) + Iman option ($2.6M).
