I guess we just disagree on Bargs. I see potential with him in a new system, coach and a team that actually has a shot a doing something. He has been wallowing on a terrible raps team his whole career.

Booze isn't on my favs list, but he's playing pretty good. From what I know Bargs is a cancer. That's why the Raps play good without him. Bull definitely don't need that. I'll rather make a play for Josh Smith. And then Nate for John Lucus III? Hell no. Nate really helped them get to this point, JL3 would not have done as much as he did.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com's Marc Stein first reported the talks, which a source told the Tribune were initiated by the Bulls and initially dismissed because of the Raptors' desire to land the Lakers' Pau Gasol. Though talks are not currently active, a source said the Raptors know the trade is available and could expand to include Nate Robinson and John Lucas III. Another source suggested it's unlikely the Raptors would take on Boozer's contract, which has $9.1 million more than Bargnani's over the next two seasons.Last edited by TheBadazz; 02-08-2013, 11:31 AM.Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

Guess we're going to have to agree to disagree.
I just don't see the potential in him. He's 27 years old, and has failed to even show the potential to fill the stat sheet on a bad team.
Add the fact that he doesn't do anything this team values, just not feeling it at all.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
You realize we still have the amnesty clause right? If we really wanted to rid ourselves of him, then we could go that route.
I'm all for trading Boozer, but not for this hot garbage, and any difference maker that we are going to be looking for, is going to come at a much steeper price than 5 million per.
This move wouldn't free up capspace for the Bulls (they'd still be above the soft cap) but it would get them out of the Luxury Tax. That'd be a HUGE advantage when building up the bench since it'd give them the mMLE. Miami is screwed in that sense since they'll only be allowed to sign guys to vet min contracts.
What's even worse, is including our current best active PG on the roster for a lesser version of Nate Robinson, who we already chose to not retain.
Bargs is a shooter that can't shoot and a 7 footer that can't protect the rim, or play defense, and takes 16-17 shots a game.
What a winner he is.
The Bulls have done just fine with Boozer playing defense, and Bargnani could actually be an upgrade in that regard. He doesn't rebound as well, but that'd be mitigated by Deng and Butler's ability to rebound from the SG/SF spots.
Financially this deal would only help us marginally, and when looking at the position we have put ourselves in this season, without Derrick Rose, it would be a huge mistake to make this trade.
Oh, and let's also not forget we already drafted a stretch 4 who is already believed to be a superior player to Bargnani who is set to come over next year or the following.
Do you honestly believe Boozer is THAT much better than Bargnani? Here are Bargnani's TS%'s the last three years:
10/11: .533
11/12: .538
12/13: .488
And Boozer's:
10/11: .542
11/12: .549
12/13: .506
Boozer has been marginally better efficiency-wise, but he hasn't been $5 mil better. Plus, I think Bargnani could get back to the .550+ TS%'s that he put up in 08/09 and 09/10, and maybe even exceed them. Not only that, but I'd rather have a 29 year old Bargnani on an expiring deal than a 33 year old Boozer on an expiring deal.
Regarding Mirotic, the chances of him coming over next year are about 5% -- The buyout is still too high. Two years is a little more likely, but the 2015/2016 season is what was predicted when the Bulls drafted him (which is, coincidentally, when Boozer and Bargnani would be off the books). What would be a better way to get Rose ready for playing next to Mirotic than playing with Bargnani over the next few years?Originally posted by billmaticRadman is more like the ******** homeless man's version of Okur.Comment

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
Again, people have their opinions.
Financially if we take on Fields, yes it will only be marginal cap relief, and honestly what difference maker are we going to able to pick up at the MLE? Serious question.
Regardless if Nate, resigns, he's still a superior option and one that won't be on the books next year. Lucas still would be owed $1.5 million next year, which is $1.5 million too much.
Boozer may be soft, but at least has a back to the basket post game that needs to be honored, and alleviates the pressure on the guys on the perimeter. Not only that but he is a waaaay better passer and has been a key cog in inciting the ball movement that we have seen out of this team so far this year.
Something that Bargnani, has yet to do. In his Toronto tenure, he was primarily a pick and pop player or spot up shooter from the perimeter, but more specifically a half court ball stopper. And if you're going to be that, you better be a damn good scorer, and he isn't even that. He is a sub par iso player, and doesn't move all that well without the ball. He's a larger, lethargic version of Kyle Korver, with average post skills.
I also don't like having to rely on our back court to cover up front court deficiencies. Having Deng and Butler focus on the glass takes away transition opportunities.
Again, I don't see him being a key cog in our success, when he can't even be a successful stat stuffer on bad teams as the go to guy.
He isn't anything this team needs. Like I said, I'm all for trading Boozer, but not for this trash heap.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

I honestly don't get that Jazz-Spurs trade. We're gonna want something more than Bonner and expiring contracts for one of the better big men in the league.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
If Bulls are doing this deal because if salary reasons, Kleiza would be the best option(he has a player option,so if he doesn't pick it up,that's almost 5M the Bulls save right there from him, along with the 5M they saved by trading Boozer and bringing in Bargnani). Cause then a Kleiza,Bargnani for Boozer deal works out just fine in terms of salary.
Bulls do only have 14 guys on their roster, so they can afford a 2 for 1 deal right now. The Bargnani,Kleiza for Boozer,Teague deal is another one I wouldn't mind having either.
Short term, Bulls might not like it, but freeing up 10M for offseason could pay off much more for Bulls. Especially being in Chicago, they can do alot more with 10M extra to spend, compared to Toronto, where it's harder to sign free agents, even if they had same amount of money as another team to sign someoneLast edited by Majingir; 02-08-2013, 04:39 PM.Comment

Not really. Hump is doing nothing at all and we save one year as Gordon's contract comes off the books after this season. Hump has two years 12 mil. Though it adds more logjam at the 2 unless Joe slides into the frontcourt.
Plus they were pining for Hump all offseason.
I'm starting to think MarShon is being shipped out somewhere if the Nets are bringing in Gordon.

Not true. Gordon has a player option that he will almost surely exercise. So essentially they have the same length of contract.Comment

Ah. Well then I have no clue why they want to try this deal unless its for Gordon's scoring or something.
