I really don't get what the Clippers are doing here. Kevin Garnett plays the same position as Blake Griffin. KG is not a natural center. Jordan fits in well with the current team I don't know why the Clippers seem bent on getting KG

Sorta surprised the Boozer deal hasn't been brought up yet at all star weekend. Especially considering it does involve Chicago(a city which the average NBA commentators do know alot about)

The Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics have had ongoing discussions about a trade that would send Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan for Kevin Garnett.

There is internal reluctance within both front offices on whether such a trade would make sense, according to sources.

Garnett would also have to waive his no-trade clause to accept a trade to the Clippers.

Garnett has a home in Malibu and is a close friend to Chauncey Billups, which is believed to make his approval a distinct possibility should a deal be reached.

The Clippers are increasingly confident that they will sign Chris Paul in the offseason, which has increased the odds of dealing Bledsoe.

ESPN reports that Vinny Del Negro is pushing for the trade, but that the Clippers' front office is against moving Bledsoe and Jordan for Garnett.

If ESPN is right on that report, Del Negro is a bigger moron than people thought. Trying to ruin the chemistry when they have one of the best records in the league? Trying to bring in a declining PF when you already have Blake Griffin?

KG would be fine. It would be an upgrade for LA But It isn't happening.

No it wouldn't be an upgrade. It'd be lateral at best. Losing two young guys and getting back an old KG who would have to play center is not an upgrade. Their chances at a title I would argue would be less due to chemistry and the fact that they wouldn't have any 7 footers outside of Ryan Hollins on the roster.

I don't think you gain anything by trading for Garnett, who will provide jump shooting and decent rebounding and losing your rim protector and energizers in Jordan and Bledsoe.

Clippers don't need anymore leadership, they already have CP3 and Billups.

Was just about to comment on leadership before reading your last sentence. On a different team KG's defensive and overall leadership would be a huge intangible. But the Clippers aren't a team in need of it.

Something that KG would provide any team is IQ and passing from the post. I just don't think LA needs that though and would be foolish to part with anyone right now. They need to stay pat and concentrate on integrating Billups and Hill back into the rotation.
