Its hard to gauge what we can get for him. Atlanta is still not really sure if a Smith deal is imminent. Key sign though is we didn't bring Pargo back for another 10 day, which tells me they will certainly be active this week. We will probably make a move, but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a Smith trade.

Don't most trades happen right after the All Star break?Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
I don't really know. I'd just be throwing **** at the wall, which is honestly what a lot of these rumors are. There's always rumors of all these big moves and big names and then hardly anything happens come the deadline.
All I know is that I definitely think Atlanta would want more value than Splitter, Mills and some picks. If that was the best offer they could get and they're set on moving Josh then yeah, it makes sense to take it. I just think there's plenty of other teams out there interested that have more to offer than the Spurs.
Also, I think the Hawks will move Smith. I think Danny Ferry wants a clean slate with that team and he already started that by (miraculously) moving Joe Johnson in the off-season. With Smith being a free agent this off-season and supposedly considering himself a max contract player, I think that seals his fate with the Hawks and he'll get moved.
Where I'd really like to see him go is a team like Denver, and that's a team that has plenty of valuable pieces to offer Atlanta.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Ya, and during the entire all star weekend, all we hear is rumors.
Didn't it happen just a few years ago where a guy playing on one of the all star teams, got traded to a team in the other conference, but he still represented the conference he was selected to?Comment

I think that was Jason Kidd. I think the news leaked out. And everyone knew about it. But it wasn't official news until after the All Star game.
I think that's what happen to Melo. But the news didn't leak out until after the break.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
Actually I think Denver is the perfect fit for Smith.
Karl would let him play open court basketball and he can be their legit scoring big. Inside and Out.
They now have Faried at the 4 and sometime even play small ball w/ Chandler at the 4.
Smith could play three front-court positions in the Denver system.Comment

But does he make them better than what they already are?
Or basically, does he put them on the same level as the Spurs, Thunder and Clippers?#RespectTheCultureComment

The Spurs are another level.
OKC is young and talented.
LAC are old and talented.
With Smith I think they can beat LAC in a 7 game series.
Denver has no interior scoring. Faried isnt that dude. He's a Lunchpail guy.
Pair him w/ Smith and you have an interesting mix. Like when a healthy Kenyon Martin was running w/ Denver. When Smith is ON, He's a real beast.I mean a real beast.Comment

Yeah, and you'd also be left with a severely undersized front court.
When Martin was there he was playing along side guys like Camby and Nene.
That front court of Faried and Smith would be terrible in the paint. Ideally you would like a real low post threat to pair with Smith who you can typically find floating around the perimeter.
For what they would need to give up, it would be a lateral move for them and with his contract and what they are trying to do, would be a terrible fit.
He definitely won't be going to Denver any time soon.
As much as moving Nene was the right move at the time, they desperately need a true post presence to not only free up space for guys on the perimeter, but to have reliable half court option, because right now I think per possession, Denver might be the worst half court team in the league. I think Al Jefferson would be a much better fit there.Last edited by JODYE; 02-14-2013, 05:56 PM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Not to mention with Smith constantly floating around the perimeter(or at the very least he's developing a reputation for that)it'd be a bad fit for a team that's already full of athletes.
I wouldn't even think that combo would fare ever against Randolph/Gasol in a 7 game series.
If that's a move Denver were to make, it'd be a bad move because it doesn't make them any better than what they are right now especially considering what they would have to give up.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
We've already seen Josh Smith in a half court Offense and it wasn't pretty and still isn't pretty.
I will say Denver is one #1 go to guy away from being added to the list of threats out West but I don't think Josh Smith is that guy.#RespectTheCultureComment
