Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
I don't really think y'all would have any problems beating them in a playoff series this year.. 4-1 probably..
But I feel that another year of experience with those young guys with the addition of Rondo, plus another year of aging against the Net's crew would be enough for them to be a better team next year.. Perhaps not for sure a better team but a higher playoff seed.
But I think all this is pointless talk anyways.. I don't think Rondo is leaving Boston, and if he did I don't think it's to Sacramento or Toronto.Comment

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
I read a report this morning in the Toronto Sun that says the Celtics are asking for an unprotected lottery pick and a young talented player. There's another report saying they want two 1st round picks.
I think Rondo would be a nice addition to this team and while I see a lot of you guys naysaying the Raptors. I can tell you from watching and following this team that there's plenty of good things going on here. It seems almost as if they've stumbled upon something similar to what happened with Detroit when they were doing good for a while there in that they play very good team ball. I do think in the long run the talent here could become better than that of Detroit as far as individual players are concerned. DeRozan has come into his own while Ross is flying under the radar and is making a name for himself.
Valanciunas isn't anything special right now but big men sometimes take a while to become a finished product. He's grown by leaps and bounds year to year especially since the Gay trade. People often forget that he's only 21 years old. He still has time to become something more than he is at present.
As for meeting Washington in the 1st round, if that were to be the case i'm pretty confident Toronto would win that series pretty easily.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Nothing official but some random rumors I've saw online, hell they may not even be credible rumors but more just speculation and "ideas".. But I'll post some anyways..
Gasol - Okafor (likely not happening if it hasn't yet)
Okafor - Ilyasova (not sure where Phoenix would play him)
Monroe, Stuckey - A. Miller, Chandler, Faried (my guess is it would move Smith to PF and Faried as a 6th man)
E. Turner - Haslem, Jones, 1st (don't see how this is likely, but it said Miami would bring back Haslem eventually the way they did Zo and Tim)
Jack - A. Miller, Hamilton
Jordan Hill - Nets
Jack - TerryComment

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Saw that NO wants to move Gordon and find a big man to play along side Davis.. Anybody think a 3 team move which involved Ilyasova going to Houston for Asik and Gordon to the Bucks for Mayo and Sanders?
Of course fill in whatever else is needed to make it work but the Bucks basically get an upgraded Mayo and a reliable scorer moving forward, And their future center in Asik.. Pelicans gain a monster defensive duo with Davis and Sanders, Mayo is more suited to a back burner role behind Davis, Evans, and Holiday than Gordon is.... The Ilysavo for Asik rumor has already been tossed around a few times this year, gives Houston a solid starting 4, or a back up who can play Jones or Parsons spot.Comment

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Also...Faried is another name who Raptors rumored to be interested in. Seeing how their GM drafted him, it'd be great pickup for sure.
Regardless of who Raptors go after,in terms of multiple picks....they have two 2nd round picks in this years draft, and 2 first round picks in 2016.
So if Raptors tried doing a cap clearing deal such as a 2nd pick in 2014,a 1st in 2016 and Landry Fields, do people think that'd be enough for them to clear up Fields contract from their team without having to take on a contract in return.Comment

I think Gary Neal and Ridnour are the two most likely to be moved, with an outside chance at Ilyasova and Henson if the price is right. I'd love to move Henson for a SG like McLemore or something. I feel like Henson's value will never be higher than it is right now.NFL: Bills

Hate to see Haslem go but unfortunately his not in the rotation anymore, though it might hurt the team cohesion and energy in the locker room.Comment

There are also rumors that the Lakers and the Mavericks are trying to trade for Kevin Love before the deadline. Wolves already know Love is leaving in '15 so they might as well cash in now.

I never buy into trade rumors, but I have a feeling that Love will be a Laker in the next 48 hours.. The only problem is what the Lakers have to offer.

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Sanders isn't going anywhere right now, and supposedly people within the Bucks organization have told media heads that have absolutely zero interest in Gordon and that it was all a dumb rumor. Sanders just has far more value to Milwaukee than we would be able to get for him in a trade at this point.

Also, lol at the Lakers trading for Love right now. With what?Comment
