Re: 2014 Draft Class
Danny Manning, Raef Lafrentz, Nick Collison, Thomas Robinson the Morris Twins Cole Aldrich and Now Joel Embid there seems to much more of a emphasis on the big down in Kansas maybe that why Wiggins has not being the player he was hyped to be because of the system Bill Self runs. Who knows maybe the pressure of being the "next one" has got to him.NBA:Philadelphia 76ers
NFL:Philadelphia Eagles
NHL:Philadelphia Flyers
NRL:New Zealand Warriors

Re: 2014 Draft Class
you have a pick of mclemore, hinrich, chalmers, and pierce as the only remotely decent kansas wings from the past years (since PP was in kansas)
rush and henry went to kansas but neither are any good
then you have the morris' and nick collison for bigs (t-rob too but he barely plays)
on a side note...there are only 4 really good big 12 players currently playing and 3 are from texas, there are 6 players from the big 10, 5 from the mountain west, and i stopped counting at 15 for the pac-12Last edited by turty11; 01-19-2014, 07:01 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
The book is open Ben in my opinion. Still in his rookie year.

Re: 2014 Draft Class
At this point are we even crediting colleges with "developing" these one-and-dones? Sure, NBA role players that stay in school 3-4 years like Chalmers, Rush etc but guys like McLemore and Wiggins?
I'd love for UConn to take credit for Drummond but he was on campus for seven months."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I think the NBA should really randomize the lottery. I mean its better that way you dont have teams tanking and knowing exactly what pick they are going to have you know make it more challenging

Re: 2014 Draft Class
BS. It's night and day for a lot of these guys. Anthony Davis is the NC game from Day 1 is a GIANT difference. Embiid has made a lot of improvements as well this year.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: 2014 Draft Class
In my view, it depends on what type of prospect you are. There's no reason really that you can't "develop" in the pros with state of the art training, monitoring and diet. If you're meant to be a great player then going to the pros early makes the most sense.
If you're a prospect who isn't expected to be selected as a lottery pick then staying in school to better your draft status makes sense.
For example, what has Marcus Smart improved by staying another year? I don't think any of the knocks on him have improved that much: his shooting and decision making and turnovers. The biggest question perhaps was that he wasn't a true point guard yet not really a shooting guard either. That question is still unanswered. Luckily for him it appears his draft stock is still pretty high.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
i think the overstock of ball handlers at OSU hurts smart. but im not sure how you can say his shooting isn't improved..its gotten much better(atleast eye test wise, he looks comfortable shooting deep shots now)
still think he shoulda came out though, might have been the #1 pick rather than possibly 4-9 this yearComment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
he just looks better/more confident taking 3's... it looks like he is forcing it alot though, but what can you expect when they are always trailing and being size dominated (atleast in games i watched)Comment
