    Re: 2014 Draft Class

What do people think of Tyler Ennis? Don't know anything about him, just that he's a Canadian PG playing in Syracuse and according to NBADraft.net, he's projected around mid 1st round.

I need a little more time before I say anything about him. I've watched all syracuse games. Still need to figure him out. He's getting good looks from scouts because they are number 2 in the nation.

As an avid Cuse fan/Cuse student, I just can't imagine that anyone will take a chance on him that high in the draft this year. Way too many areas of concern for him in my opinion (in terms of being an NBA prospect, not a college player). To take him in the lottery, a GM basically has to say, "Sure, Ennis might not be crafty enough to beat his man off the dribble, and sure, he might not be a good enough shooter yet, and sure, he might not be able to finish inside against NBA guys, and sure, he might not be able to defend opposing PGs, and sure, he isn't very athletic, and sure, he's a bit undersized, but I say let's take a shot on him in the lottery anyways!"

He needs a couple of years of improvement before he gets into that discussion IMO, and I'm not sure he'll ever be in that discussion.

He's been great in terms of being a college PG so far this year though. I just don't think he's a 1st round prospect yet. Jerami Grant is the guy from Syracuse that will be in the discussion for being a mid-1st round pick.

i cant bring it to myself to insult parker by calling him a melo type....yea i said it.

parker doesnt even come close to appearing to have that "me" attitude melo has which IMO is the biggest reason melo will never do anything in the playoffs..you can build a team around parker (from what weve seen) where melo is ultimately going to have to be a role player if he does win one

To be fair, Melo didn't look like a ball-hog when he was at Syracuse. He just dominated. I actually think he was a more promising prospect at this point in college than Parker currently is.

probably, i never watched melo in college but he seems like he not only had skills but a huge athletic/size advantage over everyone which parker doesnt have

Parker just seems to be a much more willing passer than Melo is. He seems to be more TEAM than ME.

He was really incredible. I was young at the time, but he was just amazing to watch. He was so quick with his jab steps and his little moves for a guy his size.

The numbers don't even do him justice, but through his first 11 games (where Jabari is at now), Melo averaged:
                    24, 9.5, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals, and was shooting 48% from the field and 39% from 3.

That team was so much fun to watch between him, Gerry McNamara, Hakim Warrick, and Billy Edelin.

Hakim Warrick was a monster at Syracuse!

Here's a nice mix of Melo's highlights from when he was at Syracuse.

Who are all the PG people see being starting PG in the NBA(within the first 1-3 years of their career) and who are all the SF(besides the obvious 2) people see being starting SF in the NBA(within the first 1-3 years of their career)?

only starting PG i think will happen is smart..and he may end up sliding to SG on his team --say if cleveland takes him because the SF's are gone

--people are real high on exum but ive never seen him so i have nothing to say

as for SF's im not sure outside of wig/park.. possibly hood but in all honesty it depends what team drafts who

That's kind of how I feel about Exum. I haven't seen him. So I can't sau anything about him outside the summit game.

I think Exum has a better chance of playing PG in the NBA than Smart does, but I think both are better fits as SGs. Exum's crossover is so quick though.
