    Re: 2014 Draft Class

Zach Lavine is 5th on nbadraft.nets mock draft, I don't see what everyone else sees in him. He rarely attacks the ring in the half court and can't create his own shot. At the moment he is just an athletic 3 point shooter. Kinda like Jeremy Lamb but without the ability to get open off ball.

I agree then on that. It still sucks that Oden's career was ruined by injuries. I truly thought he was going to be the best center in the NBA one day after he got drafted.

I think Anthony Davis has the most potential of anyone drafted in the last 5 years personally, and he was living up to it before the injury.

Right now if I had a "mock" top 5 it would probably go like
        1. Parker
        2. Randle
        3. Wiggins
        4. Embiid
        5. Exum

If Embiid keeps playing well, I think he'll be at worst #2-3 in this class, because his "potential" is higher than both Parker and Randle's.

I like him, not that high, but I do like him. He's insanely athletic, has a nice handle on the ball. I think he could become a Shaun Livingston type of guard.. Less of a passer but more athletic. Probably a better shooter.

It's tough to make a mock draft because some of these guys, in my opinion, really depend on team need. I could see a reason to take like 5 or 6 of these guys ahead of the others depending on team need..

A lot of it is also based on what he did in high school. He looked to have a great handle and ability to create for himself in high school. I think he's just scratching his surface at UCLA. But regardless, he looks to have an elite shot and elite athleticism with an alright handle. That alone gives him enough potential to be a lottery pick IMO.

It's a huge reason I don't make believe in mock draft this early I'm the process.

Especially since we still have 3 months left of basketball in college, and who knows how the draft order will shake up.
It's one thing to have a "big board", but mock drafts this early are worthless.
For all we know a guy that is a fringe first rounder will light it up in March and become a top 10 pick. So much time left to have things happen.

I'm a fan of Vonleh but not that much. Think he will end up at the tail end of the lottery.

He is the best perimeter defender in this class and it isn't even close. He has a ways to go offensively but he will be a good/great defender in the NBA at the very least.

I think if these guys declare, the top 6 will be these guys but in a different order. I feel like these guys have separated themselves so far.

how can you say it isnt even close?? marcus smart is an EXCELENT defender, at either the 1/2 and possibly can guard some 3's.

branden dawson and alex poythress are also very very good defenders
