Re: 2014 Draft Class
If these 2 deal were offered, what do people think might be the best pick that could be landed in each scenario?
Scenario A
Offering:
20th overall pick in 2014
37th overall pick in 2014
Scenario B
Offering:
20th overall pick in 2014
37th overall pick in 2014
1st round pick in 2016Comment

Scenario B: 8-12 range best. 2016 pick won't be that valuable since Raptors could easily be an elite team that season.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
Both would probabaly be similair to Toronto's that year. 2015-16 will be the last year of Javale's contract, Gallinari's contract, Lawson and Faried will still be under contract so Denver should be at least a low seeded playoff team. And you would think the Knicks have made some sort of FA signing by then and are decent.
So the Raptors could offer the lesser of those two picks instead, but I don't see them getting higher than the 8th pick.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
Would be interesting spot for Raptors to be at as well considering that is the spot a few Canadians(Ennis and Stauskas) are projected to go around.
Maybe even get lucky and get the Magics 12th pick(since they have 3rd pick already right now)Last edited by Majingir; 05-01-2014, 11:07 AM.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
14th pick is where I see them going after. The Suns got 3 picks in first round(14th being one of them) so I could see them doing a fair amount of dealing on draft day.

Ennis? Surely y'all wouldn't draft another PG unless you don't resign Lowry.
Stauskas wouldn't be bad, but bench scorers are pretty easy to find, considering Ross and DeRozan should be the starters for the next few years.. Signing someone like Meeks, Foye, etc..
I would get a high motor big man, or a lock down defender on the wing.. Not sure who that would be since I'm not a scout lol.. But I could see Hood becoming that, there isn't much as far as big men though, unless you went with a PF would played inside since the ones you have are more floor spacers.

Trading up won't help Raptors in terms of big man drafting though. Based on the draft projections, other than Embiid, no other C is even going in first round. Nurkic is really only other C who might go in 1st based on what I've seen.Last edited by Majingir; 05-01-2014, 02:04 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I'd draft Ennis as Lowrys backup. Vasquez is great and all, which is why maybe he could fetch Raptors a backup C. They need a strong post player off the bench. Hayes is the only backup C they got(unless Amir shifts to C when JV is sitting, but that's still not ideal in terms of resting our starters/staying out of foul trouble) and look at what's happened in playoffs...he barely even plays at all, so obviously they don't like Hayes as the primary backup C.
Does Casey have an issue with playing Tyler, or is he injured or something?
