    Re: 2014 Draft Class

I know you won't get a degree in two years.. That's my point, you don't need a degree to play basketball so why force them to go to college? Yeah you can go to the D-League but nobody is going to draft you as highly as if you went to college, it's going to hurt your stock..

If they want to make an age limit to 20 I'm fine with that.. But they need to build the D-League so that the only realistic option isn't college.. I think if a team wants to use a draft pick on an 18 year old high school kid they should be able to.. He could spend those two years, until he turns 20, playing in the D-League and developing while also getting paid. Once he hits the age limit they can bring him up.

Mitch McGary declared. I think he'll be a steal for a team in the late first/early second round. His health might be an issue though...

DeAndre Daniels declared. Likely a late first which sounds right. If he get stronger he should be a decent 3-n-D guy off the bench.

I'm in the camp that playing the NBA is a privilege, not a right. It's a private entity, they can make up whatever rules they want as long as the owners and PA both agree to it. If you want basketball to be your job at 18 that's fine, there are opportunities to do so. This isn't a monopoly where players only have one option.

I'd be fine with stashing guys in the D-League until they're 20, I've mentioned it before on OS. I don't care where kids go - college, D-League, overseas - as long as they are coming into the NBA at an older age.

If we had a better development system in the US I'd be fine with eliminating the age limit but we're so far behind other countries when it comes to our youth development system. Most American kids come out of HS without the slightest idea of how to play real basketball. I don't want to go through the late 90's/early 2000's again with lottery teams rolling the dice on unproven HS kids. It's bad for the franchises, bad for the league and bad for the fans. The only people it benefits are the still-undeveloped 18 year old kids that lucked into a big payday way too early because they're freakishly tall and athletic. I'm not going to feel any remorse for that being eliminated.

Harrison twins want to win a championship. This has to make them a favorite to win right?

Since Jabari left Duke I would think so.. Doesn't UNC have a pretty good class coming in?

They do... but they don't have anyone really good returning like UK does. UK will have 2 centers, one forward returning and in the in coming class....with the twins....

$20k from the DLeague or a $50k scholarship? Hmmm

Kentucky has 9-11 future pros on their roster. 9 all-americans (Duke has 9 as well). Returning 6 of the top 8 from the run to the national championship game. They are easily the favorites right now, but it doesn't matter right now.

Also I think Rudy's contract is up, so it might make the most sense for them to draft McDermott, since he's the only decent SF in the draft outside of the guys who will go top 5.

Exactly, despite his rookie season I think Mclemore will still end up an above average starter at the 2. No need for Smart. I think they take Vonleh to space the floor for Cousins at the 4. Or they take Gordon to be the starting SF in 2015-16 (Gay will most likely take the $19 million player option for next season).

We do but we won't be as deep as UK. They're front line will be 5 deep with NBA caliber players, we may have 1 if lucky.

I LOVE Justin Jackson coming in for you guys. He just plain knows how to score. I think he'll be a very good player. Don't think much of Berry though, although you have Paige at the point so isn't a big deal.

UNC will be a very good team next year, I'd probably put them 6th or 7th if I was "ranking" them right now.
                          1. UK 2. Wisc 3. Duke 4. Arizona 5. Kansas 6. UNC

I wonder where DeAndre Daniels will get taken in this draft. He has the talent, but I don't see him getting out of the D-league next year. He could be a decent play down the line though.

Dario Saric just had 44p 26r 13a in the Adriatic League championship game. Also, tey were playing a much stronger opponent.

                            Amazing.

He certainly did not have those numbers. WTH man? I was at that game. He had like 26-13-7 and 5 blocks.
