A team as bad as the Cavs have been the past 4 years are hardly set anywhere. Kyrie at the 1 is the only place they can be considered "set". Every other position should be trying to be improved.

This team needs to make a leap and get back into playoff contention. You sure as hell can't be drafting based on need. They need to draft the best player available.

Huh? Where's the proof. He showed plenty that he is one of the best defenders in the class. He's only 19 too.. dude has the desire built in. You can't teach that.

I'm not arguing against his desire.. I just know plenty of times watching him this year I saw quicker guys blow by him. It's probably around the beginning of the thread if you wanna look. I posted about it lol

          No thanks.

First of all, is Love going to sign an extension with a team that hasn't yet proven it can be any better than where his current team is at, which is struggling to even make the playoffs (let alone the fact the Cavs are struggling to do that in a much weaker conference than the T-Wolves are)?

Second of all, it's pretty easy to say "Love is better than anybody in this draft" when none of these players have even played one NBA game yet. For all we know any of these players could turn out as good or better than Love. It's not like he's a once in a generation player like a LeBron or Kevin Durant. He's a very good player with a unique skill set for his position, but I feel like people are suddenly overrating him with all these rumors coming out the past few days.

Looking at all of the former #5 picks in the draft...

KG, Vince Carter, Ray Allen, Pippen, Barkley, Juwan Howard, D-Wade, Kevin Love, Jeff Green, DeMarcus Cousins, J-Rich...

Even J-Val has potential, and Miller was really, really good in Memphis back in the day (still is good).

              I'm confident.

why take gordon rather than a wing scorer? give zeller atleast a chance to try and become a starting PF, but if they take a PF they need a floor spacer for kemba and gerald to drive and al to post.

heres hoping the c's come out of the draft with kevin love or smart+warren then take a run at getting asik or kanter

I don't know man, all I'm saying is towards the end of the year he had some spectacular games defensively. West Virginia being one of them off the top of my head. I don't think it's fair to say he has trouble with quicker guys. He's as quick as they come laterally and his hands too.

lets also not forget wiggins is 19? and has probably never been asked to be a defensive stopper before.

im sure bron/PG had plenty of defensive mistakes when they were 19

also apparently chad ford was told cleveland is taking wiggins after the lottery was picked

Devin Harris was once an all-star in a dark time.

Nothing wrong with Jeff Green, but we're not trading for him ha he's too old. If Vonleh or Gordon can be a Jeff Green or better kind of guy, I'll be happy with either.

It sucks nuts that Detroit doesn't have a lotto pick this year. Then again, I really don't know who they were gonna draft anyways.

                              isnt it obvious another forward?

@jazz, gordon can probly be better if he develops an outside shot of somewhat consistency...he has that killer agression, atleast alot more than green does.

Gerald is a good bench player. Gordon is a baby Shawn Marion. We have to start looking for Al's replacement. He has 3 good years left. Jeff Taylor can stretch the floor.

Napier gives us a good back up.
