6th overall is one of Celtics best drafting positions(10th being the other one)

78 with Bird,18 years later in 96 with Walker and now 18 years later the 6th again.

The Cavs would have to be brain dead if they pass on Embiid and his back checks out ok.

That being said, Wiggins over Parker, every time. Wiggins has an incredible ceiling and playing with a guy like Kyrie will help him achieve that.

But I want a healthy Embiid. I want Young Dream. The Cavs can only punt on drafting a center so many times.

I seriously cringe every time I hear Embiid's name in the same sentence as Hakeem's. Like, it's just disrespectful

He has the potential to be great. Still don't think he has the potential to be Hakeem.

              Disrespectful? The hell?

Guy has a beyond smooth offensive game and game changing defensive game. Embiid has the best offensive game to come out of college since Cousins, and he's not even 1/10th the crazy that Cousins is.

Embiid has been playing basketball for what, 5 years? Give him another 5, he'll be one of the most talented in the NBA. If you really hate the Hakeem comparisons, then how about the Anthony Davis comparison?

I don't know man, Hakeem was one of the best players of all-time. I mean I get it, Embiid is pretty fluid for a 7 footer. Other than that.... Hakeem had it all.

                  I wouldn't be surprised either.
The last time the Celtics bummed out on the lottery was during the Oden/KD sweepstakes. They ended up trading the 5th pick (Jeff Green ironically) for Ray Allen, and well, you know the rest.

Love this stat from the Bucks Twitter account:

Since 1985, players picked second overall have enjoyed the longest careers of any top-4 picks, averaging 664 games per player.

He is good offensively, especially considering his relative inexperience. He isn't game changing defensively. Anthony Davis & Nerlens Noel were game changing defensively. His offensive game isn't the best since Cousins lol. He has a solid base for post moves and a solid shooting stroke but has no range and struggled against other actual NBA size bigs.

You can't say he'll be one of the most talented guys in 5 years. That's a slap in the face to the best guys in the NBA. He has the potential to be great. Who knows how his back will hold up in the NBA. The Davis comparison is awful as well. Davis was game changing defensively, and showed offensive capabilities at UK (a decent mid range game for starters).

I saw game changing defense from Embiid. I think he has that ability.

I saw him also get beat quite a bit against non NBA level guys. I think he has the ability to be a great NBA defender, he's just not there yet.

I would think picking the uber athletic Wiggins who can also be a franchise player is a safer pick then a possible great big man with injury issues.

embiid is ALL potential. thats all there is too it.

he can max out as possibly the best big in the game if he hits it, he can bottom out as an injury plagued 7 footer with loads of potential, or he can just be a guy like roy hibbert, but ya know.. athletic ^^

if you dont have a legit C you take embiid, otherwise its wiggins all day if you arent trying to make a run into round 2 the next season
