I still don't see that the big deal is about Wiggins.

Same can be said about a lot of guys. Every player has had question marks. Andrew Wiggins isn't the first nor is he the last. You can look back into the history of the draft and see how many scouts didn't see "it" in some of the greatest players to play in the game of basketball ever.

I think if you even take a look back at our past NBA Draft threads it's fair to say that a lot of people have been proven glaringly wrong (see Kyrie Irving discussion, or two years ago da_throne assertion that Thomas Robinson > Anthony Davis). Y'all need to slow down. It's not even February yet.

So did a lot of guys before him. That doesn't say much. Every "franchise guy" in the past decade has had glaring deficiencies or areas that needed work. That's not really a valid argument because you can look at a lot of guys that came out and giveme them areas that needed huge work when they were coming out. Seriously look through the past 15+ uears of drafts I can't recall any player that came out that was picture perfect. They all needed work somewhere.

Wiggins is a project I think he should stay an extra year to mold his game and get his body NBA ready.

Wow watching Embidd today was truly awesome great to see a college big man being so dominant again this kid almost went for a triple double. If he keeps his development up and stays injury free the sky is the limit for this kid could finally see the return of a true center someone who dominates offensively and defensively.

Love Embiid. Regarding the part about wiggins, my gut feeling is that he's like MCW where everybody said he was raw and would need a few years before he had a chance to make an impact, but he'll end up being great as a rookie. And I think if he returned, there's almost a 100% chance he'd fall in the draft a bit. That's just the way it works when you return for a second year. And I think his game is better suited for the NBA.

Anyone else really like Rodney Hood near the end of the top 10? Watched some video of him yesterday and read a few profiles and I really like the idea of taking him with a late top-10 pick.

Of course Wiggin needs work. Look at his age. How many times do you see a player enter the draft that doesn't have to improve in the NBA?

I just think the hype is a little too much. Or he hasn't really lived up to the hype.

It would be lovely if things finally went full circle in this regard but I doubt it'll ever happen. Those guys are all top picks and let's be real, if they did return to school this June's draft would wind up being one of the worst in history. It would be Exum, Smart and a bunch of role players.

The point is, Wiggins doesn't seem like a franchise guy. You're arguing the wrong thing.

The hype was almost LeBron Esque with Wiggins was charged to be the next breakout talent. But does anyone think it may be the system at Kansas I honestly can't remember a good perimeter player to come from Kansas and be successful in the pros last one I think may have been Paul Pierce??. Not sure

It seems Kansas has traditionally favoured there big men in there system
