Re: 2014 Draft Class
MCW isn't even that good so I wouldn't see it as an off base comparison. People look at what he's putting up but what about his level of efficiency? Same thing with Lillard last year. Any guy can get you 17 on 17 shots. But can he do that on a little over half those attempts? That's a different story.
Anyways Exum is a question mark I'd have to watch morw film.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I think it's more that Exum just isn't the kind of player MCW is. MCW has amazing court vision and passing skills, while Exum has far better scoring instincts and touch around the basket. And while MCW is a great athlete, Exum will come into the NBA and have one of the best first steps in the league as a rookie IMO.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
Fun fact about myself, I went to the same high school as Dante Exum (I still go to this school while he moved to Canberra and to the AIS) radical feeling knowing a future nba player went to the same high school as me, even got the chance to play against him during lunchtimes xD

Joel Embiid strongly considering staying another year at KU. "Doesn't feel ready for the NBA...loves college basketball and his family doesn't need the money."

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I think it would be a great decision. Staying an extra year would really help him improve and get ready for the NBA since he's so new to basketball. He would get closer to reaching his massive potential by staying. He doesn't need the money so why not? KU is also getting the #1 PF in the class of 2014 next year to play next to him.Fan of:

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I just don't see why he couldn't improve on the next level and I don't see how it would benefit him to stay rather than go. I could easily see him being brought along similar to Andrew Bynum.
I don't see how it's a benefit to stay in college rather than get drafted. There's no reason he could not improve his skill set with pro coaches, training 24/7, dieting 24/7, weights 24/7, practicing with the best players in the world, soaking up knowledge from teammates/coaches...Comment

In college, he doesn't have to worry about that. He'll be better next year and going into next season he will be without question the best college player and talent.
Next to injury, lack of confidence is probably one of the biggest reasons why highly touted players bust in the pros. If he feels he's not ready, then I'd take his word for it.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: 2014 Draft Class
That's true, but if your confidence gets shattered that easily then you were never cut out to be a pro to begin with. That means you're mentally weak.
Again, you could easily quell expectations by bringing him around slowly. Limit his minutes and make it known from day 1 that he will not be starting or playing big minutes. People would understand. Give him the Andrew Bynum treatment even if the team is a bottom feeder.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
Without question best college player next year? I wouldn't go that far. Embiid has been great, but he isn't getting drafted because of his numbers right now, because he isn't dominant for the most part. It's all about what he could become.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Until they tear their knee. Don't see why anyone who is a top 5 pick would ever return. Maybe his family doesn't need the money, but I don't see how you turn down a guaranteed 10 mil+ contract unless your last name is Rockefeller.Comment
