    Re: 2014 Draft Class

I swear Jeff Goodman tries to be as stupid as possible and not even in an annoying Skip Bayless type of way. He's just not a smart man. </Forest Gump>

Anyway, have we discussed Kyle Anderson yet? Certainly not a given that he's coming out this year and DX doesn't have him as a first round pick if does.

I see he's having an outstanding season from a statistical perspective.

    15.4 ppg
    8.7 rpg
    6.8 apg
    .494 FG%
    .524 3P%

I haven't watched him yet this season. Is he looking anymore athletic than he did last year?

I have no idea how to project this guy at the NBA level. He's obviously big, versatile and skilled but he is SO unathletic. He looks unathletic by NCAA standards for the love of Pete. Is he somewhat out of shape or simply that unathletic?

If he ever got into better shape and/or more athletic he could be a huge steal later in the draft.

Honestly, he looks a lot like Shaun Livingston in my opinion. Probably less athletic than Shaun though.

I really like him. I think he has a good change of pace to his game which helps to make up that he isn't fast. His jumpshot seems to have improved. I don't know what Boris Diaw looked like when he 1st got drafted but I think Diaw was originally drafted as a PG. I think Kyle Anderson is somewhere between a Lamar Odom type to a Boris Diaw.

Shaun is a lot more talented overall, but a poor mans Livingston is a decent comparison I think.

Livingston is a much better athlete even after destroying his knee. Anderson is a complete non-athlete but if he can get a quicker release and maybe add some weight he can be a stretch 4 with the ability to pass at a really high level.

On one hand he knows how to play and has the size. On the other hand... dudes best physical comp might be Brittney Griner.

            Really interesting case.

I agree. It's a shame, and quite remarkable how Livingston is still able to play at after that injury. I still cringe watching that replay.
I think Anderson will be a 3 in the NBA, but I can't see him being able to guard anyone consistently.

I know he's not going to be anything special at the next level but are there really 56 players that should be picked ahead of Shabazz Napier per DX's mock?

Yeah I think Napier could at least be an early 1st round pick with his ability to score and whatnot. I would pick him in the mid to early 30s but maybe that's just me.

I didn't either until I watched some games of Baron in college. There games are similar with Baron obviously being better. Problem with Smart from watching is he has no in between game.

I'd take him before Russ Smith, Keith Appling & especially Aaron Craft.

The only thing Smart & BDiddy have in common is that they are "stocky". Baron was a MUCH better athlete than Smart will ever be, really explosive and could shoot better. I've always like Napier, mainly because I think his handle can get him to a lot of places on the court. I haven't seen UCONN at all this year (FU conference realignment) so I don't know if he's improved at all. Oh, young Boris was also more athletic than Kyle Anderson but it's a good comparison skill-wise.

Agree, not a big fan of the Smart and David comparison.. Also think Napier will end up being a second round steal for a team that will take him.. Don't think he'll ever be a star or anything but he looks like he could be a good role player almost immediately.

Sidenote - I saw the ratings for the Big East on FS1, man it is not looking good. It feels so wrong seeing GTown, Nova, etc not on ESPN. Saw one article that the FS1 ratings for Big East bball is about equal to college hockey. That sucks.
