a drummond-dwight comparrison thread should have no mention of anyone going to the freaking lakers. or any mention of players other than dwight/drummond unless comparing their games to either of the two >>

if i was a GM building a team, id take drummond over dwight although that 17% FT scares the living daylight out of me

Dwight has proven that you can build teams around him. Playoff teams. That should be the only reason you would need..

Unless you just pick Drummond because he's younger and can still grow..

Tonight is a perfect example of why you take Dwight... He does the things Drummond does as far as rebounds and blocks.. But he has 27 points on 11 shots right now.. Not many players in the league can give you that.. And while he usually isn't that efficient, he's had seasons averaging 18-20 points on just 11-12 shots.. He can give you first option scoring on half the amount of shots, and it won't kill the flow of your offense.

Well of course if you compare 23-27 year old Howard to 19-20 year old Drummond there's no comparison. I think the key is to compare 19-20 Howard to Drummond and then try to project.

The original question wasn't about 19-20 year old Dwight compared to Drummond. So why would you use that comparison now? Even then, you'd still take Dwight because the projection of what he could be was/is better than what Drummond could be.

I think Andre could become better than dwight howard, its only seven games into his sophomore season but you can clearly tell this kid has game. he works so hard and has such a high drive and passion for the game. It's been a while since i've seen that in anyone. He is a remarkable athlete. and a rebounding virtuoso.

The original question wasn't about 19-20 year old Dwight compared to Drummond. So why would you use that comparison now? Even then, you'd still take Dwight because the projection of what he could be was/is better than what Drummond could be.

If the question is will Drummond be better than Howard one day which it clearly is. Than you have to make the comparisons at least at a similar point in their respective careers. If even then as you said you'd choose Howard fine. However in the interest of a rational debate we have to judge them at a similar starting point.

Just for the sake of information, Andre dropped 31 points, 19 rebounds and 6 steals last night. I think that's the first time a 31, 19, 6 steal game has been pulled off since 1990 (Hakeem Olajuwon). Not too shabby, young Dre.

Just shows how well he can actually play when he wants to. Mentally he just isn't on the same level night in and night out.

mentally hes not even close to his orlando days, but he has gotten far better skillset wise...if he can combine his orlando mentality with his talent now....well dam that would be scary for other teams bigs

if AD develops any kind of legit post game or a 15 foot jumper he WILL be a better play than dwight. they are essentially the same exact player if you take dwights slight ability in the post out of the discussion

Dwight was like 22 when he led the magic to the finals, and I don't want to hear PER 36 or 48's for Drummond because his numbers would GO DOWN, he's not even in shape, let alone Dwight Howard shape. And didn't Dwight drop like 25 AND 10 on him in a half? C'mon guys, watch some damn basketball.

I swear people on this forum don't even watch full games, just watching highlights then talking about the junk they imagined happened.

And if I see another Paul George is Tracy McGrady meets Scottie Pippen, I will never come back to these forums; you guys are worst at judging talent.
