Terrible analogy. The scoring title is quantitative. Whoever scores the most wins. Awards are given out to people based on a multitude of categories. If someone outscores someone by .1 ppg, which works out to a whopping 8.2 total points difference over an 82 game season, it's too close to say that one of them did a clearly better job at scoring. You have to look at the whole picture and not assign each stat category a clear winner when stats are that close. I'm sure this is what the voters for ROY consider.

I have no clue what you're talking about with respect to Carmelo in college. Prior playing level has jack squat to do with ROY. It's based on this year.

Wow! You totally missed the point regarding Carmelo leading his team to the NCAA Championship. I used that to illustrate that Carmelo is/was better equipped to lead a team on a higher level than Lebron. The only reason Cleveland was remotely in a playoff hunt was not because of Lebron (don't get it twisted) it was because of Mcginnis! Point blank at this point in the game (the game being NBA) Carmelo is a better player than Lebron all around. See, all of you Lebron supporter use a lot of "ifs" to further your arguments. I am using facts. Carmelo did lead Lebron in the major stats, he did beat Lebrons team head to head, he did lead his team to the playoffs. Lebron was hyped, which is why he won ROY. Carmelo said it best:

"Anthony, in Minneapolis for Game 1 of his team's playoff series against the Timberwolves, released a statement through a team spokesman: "If it's true, I'm really happy for LeBron, but I'm not real worried about the Rookie of the Year award right now. My focus is on Minnesota."

Hype didn't get Lebron into the playoffs, baby!!!! While performance did get Carmelo there.

"Carmelo is a better player than Lebron all around" is definitely a fact. Before you even try to respond, that statement is a subjective opinion, not fact. That sentence, however, IS a fact.

And I'm not a fan of either team or player. It's just that a lot of your logic is flawed.

                  Re: LBJ is ROY

I don't thing the analogy is far off at all. If one player out performs another across a list of catagories by the smallest of margins, the totality of the circumstances would dictate that the player who consistently out performed the other is better. Many, had made the statement that Carmelo is barely beating Lebron in the major stat catagories (except for assists...well Lebron was playing point!) I am putting forth the argument that he did in fact beat him in those catagories, period, surely you understand that. As you so clearly put it, ROY should be based on what the rookie(s) did in a given year, not how they were hyped. Carmelo's team had a winning record in the much more difficult western conference, they made the playoffs, they(nuggets) now have the record for the team that has made the biggest turnaround and made the playoffs from one year to the next. On top of the stat issue, you explain to me how Lebron has done more for his team than Carmelo has? You can't do it. There is nothin concrete you can say that can support your position or the position of the voters. All I keep getting is "ifs" and "hype".

I see your point. Well, permit me then to rephrase that. Based on all that I have ever stated regarding the rookie of the year situation, Carmelo stats and perfomance should have earned him rookie of the year, Lebron's performance although great and admirable, was not enough to warrant him receiving the ROY award.

How so? And I don't wanna that Carmelo's stats are better. If you call .5 being a mile ahead, then something is wrong. Their stats are comparable. If anything, LeBron averaging more assists, by almost 3 whole, in my eyes gives him the better stats.
