You don't feel like he could be a bit more assertive, especially down the stretch? I mean, his numbers for the series are impressive but I'm left feeling like he is sort of shying away from the moment..

Saturday is gonna be nuts, can't and won't complain about a game 7 here. Pressure is all on Indiana, though.

            Roy though. 0 points, 0-1 FGM/A, 2 rebounds, 1 block, 4 fouls.

How the **** does this happen?

Last year vs the Hawks in the first round

            14.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.8 bpg, 47% FG, 82% FT, 32.1 MPG

            vs this year

            4.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.6 apg, 0.6 bpg, 31% FG, 66% FT, 22.0 MPG

Dude has regressed in every way possible.

He's starting to make the Jermaine O'Neal trade that sent the Pacers the pick used to grab him look pretty good for the Raptors.

Okay, no, that still blows huge chunks but like, c'mon.

I know it sounds crazy but do you think George would get suspended for leaving the bench?

I'd say the matchups have played a significant role in the drop off.

The league won't suspend anyone for that. I think by rule, they should be but I doubt that will happen.
Also I'm not buying that matchup excuse for Hibbert. Dude just isn't the same.

Nope. NBA is good for sometimes enforcing something. Leaving the bench is just like all their other "points of emphasis"

nah he's also guarding Jeff Teague for most stretches of games, that takes alot.

What's the difference then especially between this year's Hawks and last year's team? Sure most of it is on Hibbert himself but the matchup aspect shouldn't just be brushed aside though.

I'd be more inclined to believe that if his numbers for the season hadn't taken a dip as well. Not as drastic, but certainly notable.

                            Last year

                            11.9 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.4 apg, 2.6 bpg, .448 FG%, .741 FT%, 28.7 mpg

                            This year

                            10.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.1 apg, 2.2 bpg, .439 FG%, .770 FT%, 29.7 mpg

Well I was speaking moreso on this series.
Obviously looking strictly at numbers, it'll show a drop off but there's also a reason as to why they dropped off. Having lower numbers than the previous year doesn't always equate to a player regressing because he's not good or whatever...there's other factors as well that play a role which is my point.

Honestly, I'll chalk this up to him having a bad year and see how he bounces next year. But just factually speaking he regressed this year. Just the way he's looked for quite some time just doesn't look good. Taj Gibson went through a similar sort of thing after he signed his extension. His numbers didn't dip like Roy's are doing, but he just didn't look right out there. Clearly he bounced back beautifully, but that one year was rough.
