I"m sure there'll be more conversation about this in the Raptors thread but as i've said there and will say out here, the only way I fire Casey is if Thibs or Karl take the job. I can live with Casey's coaching if we can find an associate coach type who is an offensive mind.

Nah, those are just my favorite options (I don't like Karl though). We need a new coach pretty much no matter what.

Yeah if you want to go totally with offense bring in Mark Jackson. (if he's fired) I just don't know if Ujiri would fire the guy who coached the team to a 3rd seed but there is a parallel here with Sam Mitchell so maybe he'll clear the deck for his own guy.

Anyways, once again great series. It'll be interesting to see how Brooklyn plays in the next round.

I think y'all Raps fans need to accept you guys got dealt a tough match-up against a team that is pretty damn good. I don't think throwing Casey under the bus after the season y'all just had is a good idea at all. Y'all need to remember where you were after about a month or two into this season and think about if someone told you you would have been the 3rd seed by the end of the year. There doesn't have to be someone to blame, someone to fire or whatever, just regroup in the draft and free agency and try to build on the group that just had the best season in your franchise's history.

Casey doesn't need to be fired. That'd be as much of a reactionary move than the right move to make.

I'd watch how much I would offer Lowry if I were you though, but ya'll might not have much of a choice though. GG and good series though.

It's not so much wanting to get rid of Casey for the sake of getting rid of him, it's just that there's alot of "attractive names" out there. Don't know if they'd do better job than him, but if guys like George Karl,Doc Rivers(possibly,depending on the whole situation) and others are out there, people would obviously be interested in some of those guys.


Most of the time when Raptors lost, it's cause they weren't playing the type of basketball Casey wanted. Most of their losses were due to bad defense more than it was bad offense(5-17 when allowing 102+ points in regulation compared to 10-12 when scoring 96 or less points), and Casey as a defensive minded coach it'd obviously suck to see the team lose for that type of reason.

They don't need a new head coach, but they need 3 or so new bench guys(C,SF mainly) along with a good shooting coach.

Calls like this are why I don't like th NBA much. That Raptors guy was fouled twice before his shot.
Even as a Nets supporter, I want them to win by playing well not win by blown calls.
