Magic has always had a speech problem. Have you been to one of his theaters, or heard him when he was an NBA commentator? It was horrible. Other commentators would just pause for long long moments when he'd say certain sentences.

Once he tried to say continually, he was like

AC Green is continininully, (pause)continininully. The other two commentators were dead silent.

Magic was quite painful on the ears when he did commentary.... I quite often had to turn away. I absolutely live for Charles and Kenny in the studio, though, particularly Barkley. He's not only hilarious, he's sometimes spot-on with his comments about the League in general.

That can go both ways. If they intentionally hurt Parker and there's no serious suspensions, then it'll be open season on anyone who drives the lane.

I didn't say anything about hurting someone. I'm talking about giving a hard foul. Just hard enough to make him think about going back into the lane. If it means that Parker short arms a few of his tear drop shots or misses a couple of layups then the foul was sucessful. Hard fouls in the playoffs is common place fellas. (At least it used to be)

                  <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

You're talking about making people fear driving into the lane. That means risking injury. First of all in game 1 they knocked Ginobli and Parker down to the floor a couple of times and even got away with it. If they have to foul even harder, they're going to be giving up 2 FTs and the ball and risking suspensions, or should.

I remember the Lakers-Boston series where Worthy took a cheap foul and the rest of the series, nobody was giving him layups.

Anyways, the Lakers problem isn't that they're not fouling hard enough. It's that they can't keep Parker and Ginobli to a lesser extent in front of them. They are penetrating the lane almost at will and exposing Shaq to getting fouls.

The Lakers have no answer for the pick &amp; roll.

The only answer to the pick and roll is to beat it through their own offense. If they can get Nestorivich into foul trouble, the eliminates one of their big men shooters. Then they would probably bring in Horry/Willis/Rose. Shaq should be able to man handle Horry and Rose in the post, and I'd rather have Willis shoot jumpers rather than Nesterovich. You don't worry about Duncan with the pick and roll because Malone plays it very well. NOw only if the Lakers can get past this damn Spurs defense . . .
