Pack (or any other nets fans), given all thats happen, how would you rate Kidd's first year coaching compared to other first year coaches? I didn't watch enough nets bball this year and I know injuries hurt yall a lot

      Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

Kidd had a decent year but you can't really draw any conclusions based on the fact that he had a heavily veteran laden squad. I feel like you could have plugged in a lot of coaches and gotten the same result.

However Kidd did show some perseverance when they struggled early and rallied to finally produce acceptable results. I don't think you can really say he did great or poor.. need more time to analyze him.

The Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks have begun discussing compensation for Jason Kidd's expected move, which will likely include second round picks, according to sources.

"The Russians are done with Kidd," one high-ranking league source said.

Lionel Hollins is considered a strong candidate to replace Kidd.

ESPN reported that Mark Jackson and George Karl have also been mentioned internally as candidates.

On a scale of 1-10 id give him 7.5. DWill ankles were in pretty bad shape and Lopez didn't play in very many games. KG contributed almost nothing and Joe Johnson was well.... Joe Johnson. He made little minor adjustments and got the Nets further than I thought they would be when they started 10-21
Am I trolling? Am I serious? Did Dennis Green and the Cardinals really "let them off the hook"? What about the children? Find out next week

I was reading on another forum about Billy King and his history.. and I found myself agreeing that maybe it isn't such a good idea to have King running the show anyway lol. He's made some pretty bad decisions..

Jeez...Well first of all I think Kidd is being a bit petulant. Whatever happened to earning your dues? You can't go from coach to president of basketball ops in one year. Anyways, looks like he's going to Milwaukee and I have a feeling this will go up in flames. I thought he did a decent job as a head coach last year but it's a bit of fool's gold in some ways as he had a very experienced lineup. Interestingly, once he demoted Lawrence Frank he did a lot better so eh, I dunno maybe he knows what he's doing? "shrugs"

This has been a very intriguing offseason so far.

Chicago is technically one of our rivals (even though Milwaukee hasn't been relevant in god knows how long), but I'm really excited to see him in the NBA. I LOVED him as a prospect when he originally came out.

Highly doubt LeBron seriously considers it, but I think Phoenix is the best situation for him.

I don't like Carmelo and think he's the antithesis of Suns basketball but if you have the chance to do it you kinda sorta have to do it.

I wouldn't like all the attention and bandwagoning and all the other nonsense that comes with becoming the Phoenix LeBrons, though. Not one bit.

I like the Phoenix organization and hope they don't do this because the amount of "Suns" fans that will pop up would be nauseating. And I'd hate for them to give up on guys like Bledsoe and Dragic just to get Melo and LeBron.

Now if they both took pay cuts that would be an amazing team to watch. And could one day challenge for the all time wins record.

They wouldn't be giving up on Bledsoe or Dragic. Not at this juncture, anyway.

Not sure how I feel about a Melo-Lebron partnership in Phoenix. It seems that organization is being built up the right way with young talent and a coach who learned a lot from one of the masters of the game in Jerry Sloan. I guess if you got the means to do it then they kinda have to. I've never been a fan of Melo anyways. The guy is TOO much of a volume shooter and while he's tasted some success in the pros, I just get the feeling that he's too much hassle. Perhaps with Lebron there he could be held in check.

                              I just dunno...

i think if melo teams with lebron well see more his team USA play than what weve seen in the NBA. He wont be the primary ball handler if he is with lebron, and lebrons not giving him the ball if hes 3-20. Id love to see them team up, especially if phoenix could keep plumlee and either bledsoe or dragic at the least
