You know you're getting old when...

Luke Walton is finalizing an agreement with Golden State to become an assistant coach, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.—

That way the Big 3 can leverage their contracts either by taking more or less depending on the remaining cap space they have after rounding out the key signings.
Would Pau start for Miami? Bosh Pau Frontcourt? Or would he come off the bench?

Miami and the Thunder are the two teams where I could see Pau be really good. But I probably woudn't start him in Miami.

I don't think it works like that man. I don't think you can just sign dudes and then sign your own guys based on said moves.

Annnnd the Rockets' plans for Carmelo tomorrow.

The Rockets, however, have confidence in their message and presentation, combining the successful pitch to Dwight Howard last summer with the $7 million worth of new facilities stuffed assorted state-of-the-art bells and whistles that have been geared to put on a show.

There will be some similarities in the presentation Anthony saw in Chicago and will receive in Houston. The Bulls had Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson offer some of their recruiting pitch and shared details of their planned new training facility to be built across the street.

The Rockets will have Howard and James Harden in on the presentation and will make Anthony the first free agent to tour the new basketball operation and training facilities, which were completed after free agency recruiting had ended last season.

When Anthony arrives in the lockerroom, in addition to the show on the video boards that circle the locker room, there will be a life-sized poster of Anthony in a Rockets’ uniform holding the championship trophy. The book the Rockets annually provide (and also have prepared for LeBron James and Chris Bosh, if need be) features Anthony on the cover, also with the trophy, and featured throughout along with information about living in Houston geared toward him.
Poster of Melo holding the championship trophy? That's a little corny lol

I'd welcome Pau with open arms to the Heat. I love high IQ players.

Even a team like the spurs would have struged to get to 50 wins with that amont of injures. With the same lakers team last year and a good coach and with out the crazy amont of injures I think the lakers where a 40-43 win team. Now they got a good player in the draft and I belive that nick young will came back. Knicks are in even worse shap then the lakers are. Knicks don't have a first round draft pick for the next like 2 years and are over the cap. Lakers at least have money and have draft picks. The knicks lost tysen chanerl who else do they have? JR smith, stodimer? The lakers have some guys that are not bums like farmer, young, herney, Johnson, kobe. I really hope that nash just retires it would be the best has he just cant stay heathly any more.

aside from them name typos..xavier henry, wes johnson, and nick young and kobes legs are bums to most of the NBA

you also mention a great coach.....that would be one thing if the lakers even had a coach...but they dont have one. you got young bus pitching the team to melo? the world knows he has no idea what he is doing with the franchise...just bring back dantoni and tank out the rest of kobes contract and start over

melo not going to LA unless his wifey wants it, so if anything start tweetin at her about how great it is...

--hes going to the bulls/rockets if he wants to win, and hes going to stay in NY if he wants the money/wife says so

            btw, this made me happy

Even Melo probably coudn't be as sure as you are right now. They're gonna meet, they're gonna talk. The lakers have a shot, I'd say they get him 1 out of 5 times. The bulls have a shot aswell. It's not 0% sir.

0.5% that was the odds the Lakers get Lebron.

I'm usually not the type to be so definitive on things like this, but I really see nothing for Melo in LA. They're are five teams I've heard linked to Melo and they all sound like more appealing destinations.

LA Lakers are dying for a new superstar to take over. As seen with Kobe's contract, they will take care of you. If I'm all about getting paid and bein the big man in the best city, I would go to the Lakers.

Not a good fit if Melo is serious about wanting a ring. But the best fit in the league if you wanna get paid and enjoy living there.

Bulls' dinner is over. Usual suspects (Reinsdorf, Pippen) in attendance. DRose saw Melo at UC but not at dinner.
That's a long day to be together talking. Hoping the Bulls hit a homerun here. Rockets and Mavs aren't going to get this kind of time.

Heat are going to have to settle for vets who may have something left in the tank, because their younger *and better* options aren't listening to them.

                        2014 Off-Season Thread

I'll start by saying I do not believe at all that Melo will join LA.

But I think everyone acting like their is 0% chance, or whatever it may be, are selling the attractions LA does offer a little short.

LA is notorious for bringing help and putting it's stars in position to win. Forget what their roster is right now, they've been accommodating the needs of their stars for 30+ years now. With very, very minimal time at the "bottom". They have the ability to retool and add talent as fast, or faster, than any team in the league.

Their current roster isn't great, but if Kobe is healthy, and Randle isn't a bust, it's already better than what he has in NY. Not saying it's championship caliber, which is what Chicago and Houston both offer, but it potentially could be within a couple years.

If the ball and chain were to agree and leave NY, I would believe that LA would easily be her choice. He also will have the attraction of being "the guy", and depending who's around him he's more than capable of doing that. He might not even care about that, but to me it would have to seem at least some what enticing because stars that go to LA usually turn into Mega-stars.

I think LA not having a coach is a bigger disadvantage than their roster, or the rosters/stars of the other teams.

Like I said, I definitely don't think he's leaving for LA, but going to play for the Lakers is a lot of guys dreams growing up as basketball fans, especially those around Melo's age, so I'm not just tossing it aside completely.

                        I say, Melo to Chicago.

Really don't see Lakers being that seriously involved/considered at all. Even Rockets, they'd HAVE to trade Lin to get Lowry, and only way that might even happen is a sign and trade with Raptors for Lowry(and would Raptors even do that if it's Rockets only way of getting Lowry lol)

Wouldn't it take him awhile to begin with anyways since nothing is official for over a week from now, so no point in really rushing to get anything done cause not like the sooner it's announced, sooner it's official. Though I'm sure some decision will come before July 10th,especially if Lowry wants to help out whatever team he signs with so they know as soon as possible what they have to work with.

Would you guys let him walk for nothing before you accepted this sign and trade though?

Lin catches a lot of hate, but he still has lots to offer a team. And he seems to improve every year.

Just want to be clear, I'm not saying it can't happen because at this point, nothing in this league surprises me anymore really. However I don't think it's likely at all and I think the argument that Vni was trying to make makes zero sense. There's a difference between thinking the Lakers have a shot at Melo and somehow thinking they have the best shot. Yeah, we know what the Lakers have been doing for 30 years now, difference in all that is Jerry Buss is gone and Magic Johnson is barely a Laker these days. That's a tad bit of a difference in things man. We'll see what happens. But I'm sticking by my thought that he ain't going to LA, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he did.
