Similarly with Dirk only getting interest from the Rockets, I'd say it's due to the fact that they're past their prime and most teams already know they're staying put. Also I don't think other teams can afford to rest Wade for 1/4 of the season, especially with him playing on a new system. But you're right it is kind of sad that all of this has transpired within a couple of years.

lol, teams weren't interested in Dirk because they already knew he was going back to the Mavs. If he had expressed interest in going elsewhere he would have people lining up to try and sign him.

Wade is obviously over the hill, that's why no one wants him. Don't feel bad for him at all.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe they've cleared enough cap space to bring them both back, what with Asik being traded and a deal for Lin in place should Bosh want to sign.

I would actually say Wade's market, or lack of, also has a little to do with teams knowing he isn't going anywhere.

I think we have around $13M after re-signing Dirk & Devin (we'll have to see where VC comes in at). If we're going after Parsons, Felton would have to go in order to make room.

I dunno, I try not to get too, too caught up in all of this stuff, especially after the let-downs in free agency the past few years. Personally I'm hoping we do something with Felton to try to get Parsons, but I think its more likely we roll with him and go after Ariza. I wish they would start making their moves, Melo isn't coming here, even though I'd argue he'd be in an even better position in Dallas than in Chicago, where most people think he would be smartest to go.

EDIT: On the topic of Lance, I just don't see it. Honestly, I would love to see what Carlisle can do with the kind of talent he has, its pretty apparent Vogel wasn't equipped to handle all the extra stuff Lance brings with him, but I don't think he's going to end up here because he wants a bunch of money and other teams are gonna be able to give him more unless we clear more space.

Do they really though? Nobody really knows what the Heat guys are doing, so Wade wanting to leave if say LeBron and Bosh bolt isn't out of the question....is it?

No he's restricted, and they have his Bird Rights, so they can still go over the cap to keep him, but there have been rumblings that the Rockets aren't going to match. So we will see. Would be dumb on their part IMO
