But don't you think if Bron and Bosh are getting offers to go elsewhere, there would be ONE other team that is interested in Wade's talents? I know he's been there a long time but Dirk's situation isn't just because he's been there, he's said for like two years that he was going to re-sign at a discount when his contract ran out.

Sad thing is though is that Wade is still a top 3 SG. Says a lost about the SG depth of the league"To the last minute, to the last second, to the last man, we fight"Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
We'll just ignore the hyperbole here.
Didn't know me suggesting Nick Young meant breaking the bank (Signed for 3.7, and 1.1 million the past two years. Well within Chicago's range). This also ignores the fact that they let Belinelli walk for the same price as Dunleavy who from an offensive ability standpoint at this point, is half the player that Belinelli is, which is what we desperately needed. Between him and Robinson, they were our best creators on offense the last 3rd of the season.
And if you've been in here, you'd know that I have denounced our pursuit of Carmelo on multiple occasions
All I was saying is teams shouldn't be focusing on big names but pieces to fit what they need, and used the Bulls as an example. Lots of names have been thrown out for the Heat that fit what I'm saying (I think oj and ex both through out some good ones). My post wasn't directed at you or anyone else.
No one said it was. The generalizations aren't needed.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Wade averaged almost 20, 5 and 5 last year. Clearly we can pull stats to show that he's still a top SG in the league. But if you told me you needed a shooting guard to play at a high level for 70+ games, his name wouldn't come up for a while.
His true value is somewhere in the middle, making him unpredictable. I don't know why so many are acting like he's done, he's far from it. I'm sure most teams would love to have him, but not many will risk tying up that much money into a player they don't know how many games they can get out of at a high level.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Not necessarily, but that's for the off-topic thread. Depending on how much Wade can actually even play during the regular season, one could argue Klay, Beal and DeRozan could slide past.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Wade aint done by any means, within the context of free agency though which was the discussion, he aint commanding much. In terms of Wade the player going into next season, top 10 guard for sure but he'll be in a very specific role, more unique than any of the other 2-guardsComment

I can kinda get behind the idea of signing Pau when we miss out on Melo as a possible precursor to moving Taj in a trade for Love.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I don't see where he fits in with the Bulls. Gasol plays a position where your two best front court players in Noah and Taj play. And although he's better than both of them in terms of the player he is, he's not as important to the Bulls as Noah and not as valuable to the Bulls as Taj.
As far as the Thunder, he's a significant upgrade from Perkins. Them adding Gasol increases their chances on the championship...oh wait...they still have Scott Brooks coaching...nevermind.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

I think the Spurs are much better with Gasol. A deep team adding more depth. I agree that they don't need him, but they could sure use him.

How do you not see Noah fitting well with Gasol? That's a perfect fit, Gasol can be soft and let Noah handle the dirty work while Noah can let Gasol spread the floor with his midrange. The post passing would be amazing between the two. That's a perfect fit bro lolComment
