I'm going to go out on a limb and say Luol Deng is a lot more athletic than you are.

He was still the most efficient scorer for his position. I think the team interest has a lot to do with teams knowing they have to pay him first option, franchise player, money when he's really better suited in a 2nd option role and likely can no longer carry a team.

Yeah it's happening tomorrow. That's according to Chris Broussard though...

which means we'll need to wait until Lebron comes back.

Another more clearer explanation I think on the Heat money situation.

By reaching agreements with Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger with the non-taxpayer midlevel exception and biannual exception, the Miami Heat will not be operating as a team with cap space.

With LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem opting out, they conceivably could have created enough cap space to sign a bigger contract player if they would have renounced the Bird rights to those players and then re-signed them with cap space.

By going over the cap, the Heat will also cut ties with their room midlevel exception.

By using these two exceptions, the Heat, by league rule, have to stay underneath the apron, an effective hard cap set $4 million above the luxury tax line, which is set at $77 million. Under no circumstances can the Heat's payroll go above $81 million this season.

As for not making a difference, we had no PF last year at all, unless you think Big Baby was good. Now we have a veteran stretch 4 who can play C as well. Him and Vuc could complement each other.

Hopefully, he was brought here to start until gordon gets big enough to step in. So that should be 2 years of starting and 2 years of coming off the bench. He should be fine to do that for 4 years. Me personally would go 2k mode and flip him somehow for KD in two years.

Similarly with Dirk only getting interest from the Rockets, I'd say it's due to the fact that they're past their prime and most teams already know they're staying put. Also I don't think other teams can afford to rest Wade for 1/4 of the season, especially with him playing on a new system. But you're right it is kind of sad that all of this has transpired within a couple of years.

Obviously Luol is more athletic than me. lol

I think Melo is going to wind up with LA. His crazy, pushy wife is going to get her way.

                    Cmon man

If we're talking Jackie Christie then maybe, but Lala has been all but crazy compared to most of these chicks I've seen, IMO.

I don't even think it's about LaLa though man. They already live in LA in the summer. Any LA life she wants to be indulging in she does then, not to mention the fact that if it's about her acting career she's not gonna be in LA like that anyway. Depending on the roles, you could be gone for months at a time filming in Canada some where, Melo will be on the road a lot during the season as well so there's no real gain here.

And again, it doesn't make sense for this dude to go clean across the country to a harder to win in conference for less money and one less year of security for the exact situation he'd be in in New York. I think it's New York or Chicago in this and LA is getting thrown around either A) Because it's LA and that's the easy story to push for these writers, B) To leverage the Knicks into taking that Boozer sign and trade or C) He wanted that max in NY all along but after all that talking about wanting to win, he doesn't want to just jump at the money the first opportunity he had and make it obvious he really only cared about the money.

Blazers free agent point guard Mo Williams is scheduled to meet with the Mavericks tomorrow, a source said.

I could see the Heat showing interest too. Williams could still be useful off the bench on the Mavs or Heat

I gotta admit it would have been kind of fun to watch Kobe and Melo chuck it up but I don't think it's happening either anymore.

I think he ends up staying in NY and Bron stays in Miami. It was obvious all theses storys where gonna happen when such big names become free agent. I woudn't even be surprised if the league told them to take their time with their decision.

Yeah, but at that point 8 million of the cap will be taken up on a backup. With extensions given to Vucevic, Harris and possibly Harkless by then, 8 million more space of cap room could be very important to adding another all-star caliber player.
