Presti is set on Scott Brooks and so is Durant

"You have to look at yourself critically every year and that starts with me, that starts with everyone in the program, and I think Scott will do the same and come back a little bit better."

"That's our guy," Durant said at the team's exit interviews. "I'm riding with him."

Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti backed Scott Brooks on Thursday, saying the oft-criticized coach did "an excellent job" this season.

The thunder had a decent regular season. Brooks actually had them running an offense with decent fluidity, and they were winning games on their defense for the most part. Its just that once playoffs got here, okc fell apart. So i could see how presti might not wanna be quick with getting rid of brooks, especially since they have good chemistry. And durant and brooks did acknowledge that there offense was stagnant for much of the playoffs, so we could some improvement on that side of the ball by brooks next year. But im still a believer in either brooks goes, or okc needs to come up with the same amount of shooters that teams like miami and san antonio do if they wanna continue to be a favorite in the tough west.

I don't think OKC has good chemistry at all on the floor (they do all seem to get along though). They have extremely talented individual talents in Westbrook, Durant and Ibaka. It's almost sort of amazing that they are as good as they are without a real offense. Goes to show how insanely talented those three are individually.

As a duo, Westbrook and Durant really don't play off each other that well. More like take turns going ISO.

              Per Woj...
New York Knicks president Phil Jackson and his top coaching candidate, Derek Fisher, talked briefly on the telephone Wednesday and plan to reconvene next week, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Jackson expressed his desire to engage Fisher in talks to become the Knicks coach, sources said. Fisher is expected to take the weekend to talk with his family and make a final decision about retiring from his 17-year NBA career in order to fully pursue coaching, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

I don't think that's the case honestly. Eventually Scott Brooks is going to stop hiding behind his team previous success to keep his job(ala VDN). Brooks just has to get them under control on the floor also either move Westbrook to the 2 and start Jackson at PG. Or bench Thabo and find a better SG.

How many years has brooks had the opportunity to prove he could design even a decent offense? If they move Westbrook to the 2 they had better get someone other than Jackson to run the point. He's a worse chucker than Westbrook and nick young combined

its not that their "PG" are chuckers, its that there is not a single playmaker on the roster. Sure westbrook can get 10 assists, but he doesnt make his teammates better, nor create GOOD high quality shots for them at a good enough rate

I don't think they'll ever have that regardless though. When you have Durant and Westbrook having to take 50+ shots per game in the playoffs to win, or stay in ball games it doesn't leave much room for an extra playmaker..

They want to force turnovers and get that two headed monster rolling in transition where literally no team in the league can defend them. There just isn't really room in their "system" for any more of a playmaker than what Russ already is.

Ideally they just need Russ to make some smarter decisions and Durant to look to make plays for others aside from only passing when he's doubled or trapped.

Too be honest that might be Brooks fault. I remember when everyone said Rose shot way to much. Then Tibs said that's apart of offensive scheme. Everyone called BS then every PG after Rose not named Kirk came in and took tons of shots including John Lucas. A great coach would've had it under control by now. I don't think they need another play maker less is more sometimes.

I just think they need either a veteran that can control the tempo and do the little things. Like just say an Jose Calderon or Andre Miller(just using examples not saying literally them). Or they need someone in between KD/Russ to take some shots away from them which is what Kevin Martin/Harden did. I thought that's what Caron would do for OKC honestly.

Agreed with both of you, why harden was important. He was a playmaker not a chucker to start his career. Basically their point

He's a chucker just as bad as Westbrook but worse because he can't score as well
