It takes a certain mental toughness / desire to survive through year in and year out of losing. I used kemba walker as an example; he's known for his leadership and passion. Not everyone is the same ... so it really just depends on the personnel.

That's the biggest problem with these analytic based GMs like Hinkie and Daryl Morey: they don't take human nature into account ...

The biggest difference is Kemba is just one player and they still had a halfway decent team, if Kemba wouldn't have turned out they would have been ok.

Philly is building an entire roster around guys like that, and basically intentionally losing to do so. It might all work out perfectly, but it's risky.

With Wiggins out, unless they acquire someone from Philly or the Wolves, they will have a need for a back up SG. Even if he is 80 years old.

Ray might as well pull a Rasheed Wallace/Roger Clemons in that he should sit out half of the year and then sign with someone in Jan/Feb.

saw on ESPN bill self said wiggins wanted out of cleveland lol

"When all this trade stuff started, I talked to Andrew and Andrew told me, 'I hope I get traded,'" Self said. "And I'm like, 'No you don't.' And he said, 'Coach, I do. It's better for me, knowing my personality and what I need to do, to go somewhere where I'm forced to be something as opposed to going in there where they're going to be patient with me and I'm going to be a piece.'"

That's understandable to an extent, but I don't think he realizes just how big of a "piece" he could have been. If he can develop enough in Minny to be a superstar then he for sure could have developed enough in Cleveland to become a "big 2" or "big 3".

He's right. I think it's better for him in the end.

Pressure wise maybe but he could certainly learn a lot from LeBron as opposed to who in Minnesota?

Its a better fit because the knock on wiggins has always been his passiveness throughout the games ... if he stayed in cleveland he would have been the 3rd maybe 4th option which would limit his growth whereas the twolves will make him the man there; the go-to guy.

Wiggins' logic I can agree with, he knows he's too passive so being traded to the Wolves will force him to be more aggressive. Now, is he actually capable? I think growing into that role, like he could have in Cleveland, would have been ideal. IMO I don't think he's anywhere near ready to be the #1 guy and if he realizes this off the bat in Minny I think it would definitely traumatize him mentally to an extent.

As opposed to developing into a superstar and being sort of strung along slowly, which is what would have taken place with the Cavs. Similar to a rookie starting quarterback in the NFL, sometimes a lot of development and evolution depends on the system and how fast a guy is exposed to things (namely losing and/or just not producing individually).

What other choice does he really have? Its either sit there and sulk like that Fresh Prince gif, or psych yourself up mentally that this is the best thing for you....even if its not.

Guys here is a weird question. But I just want your opinions. Nothing more lol. If Kobe would of stayed with the Hornets. Would he have been the player that he is today? It's a tough question. But Kobe didn't have the problems that Wiggins has coming in with the label of taking time/games off.
