Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Just watched the K. Love presser, he looks noticeably slimmer. Interesting.
I'm pulling for him, always have. His father Stan was my coach growing up in Oregon... but does anyone else have the feeling that I do.. Like, I've always considered Love one of the best big men in the league despite limited team success.. but somehow someway he won't look like we all expect him to in Cleveland, even with LeBron who can make scrubs look great?
Just a strange feeling I have but hopefully I'm wrong.Comment

Doc Rivers signs extension with the Clippers.
Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers has agreed to a contract extension through the end of the 2018-19 season, the team announced Wednesday.
Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers has agreed to a contract extension through the end of the 2018-19 season, the team announced Wednesday.
Rivers, who also serves as the team's president of basketball operations, previously had expressed uncertainty about his future with the Clippers in the wake of this year's scandal involving former owner Donald Sterling.
Sterling, who received a lifetime ban from the NBA for making racist remarks, officially sold the team earlier this month to Steve Ballmer, who paid a record $2 billion in a sale that was confirmed by a judge.
"This is an important day for this organization," Ballmer said Wednesday in a release. "I am excited to work with Doc for a long time as we build a championship culture that will deliver results both on and off the court.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
He can guard shooting guards, meaning he likely would have started the games Wade was out rather than them starting Toney Douglas. Aside from that he wouldn't have helped much, their result being a loss in the finals would have been the same.. But a couple minutes a game of not seeing Ray Allen getting his ankles broken would have been enough to keep me happy lol.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
He wouldn't have helped any. He'd have the same impact Mason, Douglas and even Beasley had, which as we all seen...wasn't much.
I still don't know why the Knicks picked him up even before Phil took over.#RespectTheCultureComment

Don't know why we definitively say guys won't have an impact, when we get unexpected production from some player just about every season...Comment

Depends on what you mean when you say impact. We're not talking about him dropping 20,15 or even 10 PPG while shooting 40%.
But in most cases, it's almost obvious if you can tell that (insert player)will make an impact or not. But this goes into a whole "What if" scenario so I digress. Also depends on what your expectations are on that particular player.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 08-27-2014, 08:31 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
I know I wasn't expecting a guy like Patty Mills to give much when he came to SA....but he's had a heck of an impact on the team, especially in the Finals w/o averaging 20....won't even bring up the other fat guy again, lolComment
