Rothstein To Retire From Coaching; McAdoo To Join HEAT Scouting Staff

MIAMI, September 4 – The Miami HEAT announced today that former head coach and long-time assistant Ron Rothstein has retired from coaching and will join the HEAT Broadcast team and serve as a Corporate Liaison. The HEAT also announced that long-time assistant and Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo will become a pro scout and serve as a Community Liaison.
Heat news, glad Rothstein will still be around

Just one example. This guy has just as many sources as Broussard. ESPN is really laughable these days. He passes a lot of things off as facts without giving reliable sources. A lot of the current Rondo narratives comes from Goodman... People see ESPN next to his name and just roll with it.

A lot of sites and blogs took that and ran with it.

There are a lot of outlandish things and twitter rants from Goodman but they are not relevant to this thread. I wouldn't be surprised if Goodman was that unnamed scout that says he'd take 39 PG's over Rondo.

So this goodman guy is the espn version of coach nick. Except instead of an irrational hate for russell westbrook, he has it for rondo.

Coach Nick is that way with a lot of guys, I can't stand listening to him talk about players, his other stuff is decent though..

He does harp on Westbrook. Purposely bring up anything he does bad and omit anything he does well. Westbrook could beat his man to the bucket and score an and-1 that gave OKC the lead and he will list off 3 things he should have done instead, "he should have went left", "should have shot a pull-up", "should have passed to Durant", or he'll throw in a "had the defense helped like the should have he wouldn't have gotten that lay up".. So biased against him.

Wouldn't shock me either. Honestly though I never listen to the BS "unnamed sources" and stuff though. Anytime I see that automatically assume some criticism is going to come and think those scouts are normally the ****ty ones on bad teams. I never read someone saying they'd take 39 PGs over Rondo lol. That's a next level of hate right there lmao.

Yea man, westbrook is his worst victim, but he has no shortage of hatred for vc, melo,or kobe even. I understand that sometimes you dont like players, but some people take it to an extreme that it doesnt need to go to. What nba players do dont affect our lives or well being, they play a sport that simpy entertains us thats it. I will never understand why people will show hate for a person whos life has absolutely no effect on theres at all.

I'm so ready to watch them this year. I'll kinda be cheering for everyone except OKC this year.

Miami will be interesting, Cleveland of course will be fun to watch, Charlotte will be THE TEAM to watch in the East to make a huge jump, which is great for the "new" franchise. Interested to see Pau and Rose work together, New York starts their rebuild with my pick for MVP Carmelo..

Can't wait! Preseason starts in 4 weeks I think

I really see him making huge steps this season in being more efficient, the Knicks won't be a threat to win the title this year but in my opinion, the MVP race will include him and Anthony Davis this year along with Durant and LeBron

I think Davis is one more year away from MVP contention. Think Durant snags another one, barring injury.

I think the main thing that holds him back from being in the MVP conversation is if he can carry that team to the playoffs, especially in the West.

Davis is going to have to average like 25/13/3/3 and win the West to win an MVP. I don't think he'll be top 2 for at least the next 5 years.

I think anthony davis will be an mvp candidate soon but the pelicans will have to make the playoffs and be a high seed ... I can't remember the last time the award was given to a team that barely made the playoffs or even missed it

I think if the race is close enough to consider more than one guy that LeBron will get the MVP. His return to Cleveland and the hype around this entire season will likely push him over the top, even if someone like Durant deserved it slightly more..

Definitely feel Davis will be up there in the conversation sooner rather than later, but if Blake Griffin continues his 2nd half of the season play into this season he should be almost a lock for 3rd-4th place.
