Hahaha its definitely a mixed opinion right now. Having Chandler back is nice for sentimental reasons but if he plays like he did last year or has more injury problems, its gonna be upsetting. Hopefully coming back to Dallas and a more cohesive team and organization will help him get back to his 2012-13 form.

I like Calderon a lot but losing his contract is definitely a plus. His play definitely wasn't worth what were paying him. Ellington was a virtual non-factor all season so losing him doesn't bother me. I would be more upset about Dalembert going but Chandler is a better version of him anyways. Losing Larkin is eh, I think he has some potential but I don't really see him as more than a backup. And the Mavs are awful in the draft so losing two second round draft picks doesn't bother me.

Right now, I'd say the trade is a positive for the Mavs, but I HATE HATE HATE having to take Felton back. Hopefully he doesn't end up being our starter this year or we might be going right back to 2012-13 ways where we couldn't even throw the ball in to Dirk on the post.

This trade would leave Dallas with only one point guard so I'm curious what they would be doing there. I think bringing on two guys Melo is familiar with is part of a push to bring him on.

Honestly, wouldn't be surprised at all to see JET return on a vet minimum contract at all. He's said he wants to retire in Dallas.

It's a pretty low risk move since Chandler is only on the books for next year and we know Dirk's remaining window of opportunity is small, if it even exists at all anymore.

Chandler was absolutely awful in the postseason during his time in NY though.

        17 games
        5.8 ppg
        7.8 rpg
        1.2 bpg
        50% FG

Regular season during his three years in NY...

        10.2 ppg
        10.1 rpg
        1.2 bpg
        64%

That is an enormous drop off. He should perform a little better though now that he's outside of the dumpster fire that is the Knicks.

I hope you enjoy watching Felton though.

Please don't trade Cole or any picks, Miami. We need to keep getting younger. Cole is one of the guys on our team who always comes out with positive energy. He has great chemistry with the older guys. It's good if we get Napier but there's other guys in the draft who would be good.

LMAO New York think they're slick. Try to take out one of Melo's desired teams by shipping pieces there.

I like getting Chandler back. He is a perfect fit next to Dirk.

It sucks that they have to take back Felton and I don't like losing Calderon because of his great shooting but hopefully Devin Harris will be back and they will be able to find some shooters.

Dallas actually thinks this trade makes them more attractive to Melo/LeBron.

Calderon is the perfect fit if Phil wants to run the triangle.

I honestly think the Napier thing is because LeBron wants him. I might be crazy for even thinking that, because I think it's crazy they would try to move up for him. But I remember LeBron tweeting about him, saying he didn't think any point guard should be drafted ahead of him. If LeBron wants him it would make sense for them to move up.. Otherwise it makes zero sense to me.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it makes any sense whatsoever to draft someone based on what one player wants, regardless of who it is. Miami's FO should get it scouts and who it rates the highest and not just pick one because Lebron wants them. And I would apply this to any team out there, including my own in not letting your star player play GM as well.

Cleveland did this and we seen how that turned out. He definitely isn't worth a player and a future #1 pick just to move up and get.

^^^ I completely agree. I just couldn't think of a logical reason Pat would go for Cole + a 1st to get Napier. Unless it was to please LeBron.

Either way I think it's a horrible decision to make that trade.. And the whole "rumor" could be completely untrue. I wouldn't be surprised if people made it up just because they knew LeBron liked him.

They should know first hand. Plenty of teams did dumb **** to please LeBron in 2010. How'd that work out for them?

                              KG News per NetsDaily:

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- All indications are that Kevin Garnett is preparing to return for another season with the Brooklyn Nets, according to a league source.

Barring something unforeseen or a change of heart, Garnett has indicated he will begin preparing shortly for his 20th season.

General manager Billy King reiterated on Wednesday that the Nets have been operating as if Garnett is under contract and will play next season until told otherwise. King said he has been in touch with Garnett and added that he is optimistic about having the big man back and that the 38-year-old will begin training soon.

"Yes," King said when asked if he believes Garnett will be able to play at a high level next season. "I think he's preparing earlier this year than he did last summer."
I'm guessing this will also mean Pierce will be returning back as well. Hopefully Livingston is back next season as well.

The report from ESPN was that they were targeting Shabazz specifically because LeBron said he believes he's the best PG in the draft.
