Most definitely. Ya'll belittle Pippen's career because of MJ just like ya'll do to Kobe because of Shaq. Yet Magic and Bird seem to be immuned from these conversations. I don't understand it. I hope no one believes that Magic was better than Jabbar, and Bird was better than McHale.

Not now, I don't think so. But say take the Shaq that played so well in 2000 and 2001, and I give up MJ or Kobe easily. I think Jordan's career overrall was much better than Shaq's but I also think that Shaq at his peak was the greatest player to ever live.

#1. For you to entertain the notion that Shaq, who can't hit a shot outside of 5 feet, is the best player of all time is assinine. Granted, Shaq may be the most dominant player due to sheer size and strength. However, he is definitely not the best ever. I simply cannot give someone the title of G.O.A.T. when he shoots 45% from the free-throw line.

#2. In my opinion, T-Mac is just as good as Kobe. As I stated previously, Kobe's talents are more evident because he is on a phenomenal team with a player that demands double-teams. Put T-Mac on the Lakers and they are just as good, if not better. T-Mac gets very little publicity because he plays for a scrub team. The dude scored 62 points in a game earlier this season, and he took less than 40 shots that game (I think). Offensively, T-Mac may be better than Kobe. Defense is a different story because neither player plays great defense, although Kobe is a bit better at the defensive end.

#3. Scottie Pippen was a very solid player. But in no way was he great. He is in the Top 50 of all time because Michael Jordan made him into a great player. As Chuck Daly said, Scottie Pippen is one of the Top 10 players in the league (in 1990), but with Michael, Scottie is the second best player in the league. Chuck friggin Daly said that! Pippen was good, but Jordan made him great, and it shows because after Jordan left, Pippen went to garbage (age taken into consideration). Besides, with MJ on the team, Pippen never averaged more than 21 ppg and without MJ, he never averaged more than 22 ppg. Yes, he was a very good player, but T-Mac and Kobe are probably both better than Scottie. Scottie was a GREAT role player.

Re: Michael Jordan - The Legend

there are two reasons why Kobe can't be compared to MJ:

            reason #1:

Kobe is too selfish, he will force shots up if he doesn't feel he's getting the ball enough. or he will protest on the court if ppl feel he is shooting too much (see Sacramento game this year). he lets his emotions control him too much and will do things out of the flow of the offense. Jordan never did that, if he wasn't scoring, he'd pass, rebound and play D. Kobe is a good defender but if he's not scoring he's not nearly as effective a player as Mike.

            reason #2:

How can u compare Kobe to Jordan when Kobe might not be the best player in the league now... When Jordan played he was the best and everyone knew it. u didn't have: who's better Clyde Drexler of Jordan, cuz u knew it was Jordan. yet u have Kobe or T-Mac, Kobe or Paul Pierce. the fact that u can compare Kobe to these players shows he's not in MJ's class. cuz u absolutely can NOT compare T-Mac to Jordan or Paul Pierce to Jordan. and since u can do that with Kobe, how in the hell can u compare Kobe to Jordan?
