In the NBA, off court presence doesn't matter anyway. The best players in the league can get away with murder and still get more respect than the upstanding off-court individuals like Malone, Grant Hill, David Robinson and the like. The NBA is for thugs now-a-days and everyone should be prepared for lying, cheating, and plain ole debauchery.

I understand if people think that he was the one to get Phil and Shaq out of LA, but people are acting as if it is a fact, when in reality none of us know.

See, Kobe and Kupcake have you fooled. You dont know if he lied, but everything he said wasn't a lie, so you admit you know he lied, just not about everything, yet you say you dont know he lied. I wonder if he thinks NBA fans and the city of LA are full of stupid people. There are some straight homers out there like Vic the Trick

 Wait, so I don't know that he knows that Mitch knows that he lied? Anyways, I was just saying what I thought had happened. I am not labeling my scenario as a fact. Kobe said that he wasn't the one that told management to fire Phil and trade Shaq. The media said that Kobe threatened the Lakers organization to trade Shaq and fire Phil. How do any of us know for a fact who is telling the truth. It basically comes down to this. If you like Kobe, you believe his words, if you don't than you belive the media's words. I'm not claiming that Kobe's words explain what actually happened because I don't know. It's just what I believe. But, I see guys making posts saying "Omg, Kobe BSed his way through the entire thing. He's a damn liar and the way he gave his press conferance pisses me off because he is a liar." If you believe that Kobe really did tell management to get rid of Phil and Shaq, then there's nothing wrong with that. I'm just saying that you can't label Kobe or media has liars because none of us know what the hell really happened. 

I don't think Kobe went up to management and threatened them to get Phil fired. I think that management (those dumb idiots) stopped contract negotiations on their own hoping to make the Lakers more appealing to Kobe.

Tell me why he sent his people to talk to coach K after game 2 of the finals then?

 I never read anything about this, so I wasn't aware of it. Was it one of Kobe's people that came out and said that they talked to Coach K after game 2 or was it "league sources" that said it?

Either way I belive that last year was Phil's last Lakers coaching year. He said that he had demanded an extensive amount of money (12 million per year) to get out of contract negotiations.

Shaq may have left because he didn't want to play with Kobe. That is a high possibility. But I don't think Kobe told management to force Shaq to leave.

 Again, one is my opinion, and other is yours. Nobody's can be considered right or wrong. We won't know what really went down unless Kobe, Shaq, Buss, or Kupchak come out and give us a real answer.

When Kobe said that he would still sign this contract had Shaq still been there, I'm not so sure about that. I think that if Shaq stayed, the Kobe would have left.
