If you don't understand then you should stop being like Kobe, and actually use your brain to think. The NBA is more than just on court basketball. It's image, marketing, fans, media and so on and they all affect each other as well as the whole representation of the NBA, not just for the big wigs and officials, but obviously for some fans. So when I see a grown man acting like a child off the court and acting like a fool, it annoys me, yes.

I'll never compare him to MJ based on his current career position, stats and achievements. As far as I'm concerned, his career begins now and in a few years (barring a possible prison sentence which most people seem to be overlooking) we'll see if he deserves to be compared to MJ or Penny...

            <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Actually Kobe is ahead of MJ as far as career numbers. He's ahead of everyone as he is the youngest to ever get to 10,000 points scored, and his 3 championships before MJ got one also are worth noting. If he goes on another run of championships, you'll have no choice but to acknowledge that. Penny never achieved that, noone else has except Kobe.

I do agree that the trial diminshes his image, but his basketball legacy is looking pretty good. (providing he doesn't go to prison)

"It's unbelievable," Odom said for the umpteenth time. "To look up at those trophies and the banners [in Staples Center]. You ask anybody in the NBA what team they want to play for, when you get them away from their teammates and their fans, and they will say they want to play for the Lakers."

True dat, averages are in MJ's favor, but Kobe has a chance at the alltime most points scored by the end of his career. He's the youngest at 10,000. I believe he is a tad over 12,000 right now. He plays through injuries, so by the time he retires, his stat sheet will speak for itself.

Who in the hell are we to Kobe Bryant where he has to tell us his business. He has no obligation to inform us about his personal life. I'll let ya'll in some of mine though. I cheated on my girlfriend a couple of times and if I were married, I wouldn't rule it out. Does that make me a bad person? Yes it does, but I could care less. I do what I want to do. The Kobe hating is extreme. All and all you'll always find "respect" in "disrespect".

I hope he did get rid of Mr. Overrated Phil Jackson, and it's about time they dumped Shaq. Why prolong the inevitable.

                              1. The Lakers were not going to win another championship with Shaq and Kobe
                              2. No one can argue the fact that Shaq would have always been the first to go(retirement), even if he stayed with the Lakers

So why waste two more years paying Shaq a butt load of money when you aren't getting championships. You ain't losing money. Kobe puts the fans in the seats. Might aswell just get it over with and start the rebuilding now. The NBA is a business. I hope no one thinks that Kobe got his way because he makes Buss laugh and he does nice things in the community.
