Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Upshaw can potentially be what Byombo is if not better. The future is NOW we have Russy, Clarkson, Randle, Upshaw(hopefully). I'm not saying that we need to get a star FA, but spending your cap on mid level guys just to do something hurts in the future. FA's not coming here until we start winning period.
Also none of this matters until Kobe retires next summer and Byron Scott resigns for personal reasons. No one wants to play for a coach who doesn't see the value of a 3 point shot. This franchise needs a complete reset and that can't happen with Kobe & Byron clinging onto the past. Can't change ownership so we're stuck with the bickering siblings."This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
I didn't use our young players as our future because we've heard and said it enough but those 3 players aren't going to attract any FA for a few years. You're correct Upshaw could be better than Byombo but he has off the court issues that caused a 1 round talent to go undrafted.

Complete reset is coming in 2 years I can promise that. If we fire Scott expect Kurt Rambis to be the HCComment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Well outside of LA and LeBron, the next best free agents still available are;
- Reggie Jackson (RFA)
- Lou Williams
- Rodney Stuckey
- Kosta Koufos
- David West
- Enes Kanter (RFA)
- J.R. Smith
- Jordan Hill
Knicks and Lakers might as well try signing Kanter.
No point trying to tank since they don't have draft picks next season (Lakers top 3 protected however).
Teams like Philly and Boston who get praised for acquiring so many picks are the reason teams with no picks like the Knicks and Nets can always sneak into the draft.
Will they get a lottery pick next year? Highly unlikely. But the outlook isn't as bleak as it may appear to be.
As for the Knicks, it seems as if a low post scorer has been what they are after. Surprised they haven't tried to pry away Kanter. For the price tag he's arguably a better cop that Brook Lopez would be. Hell in his 26 games with the Thunder last year he averaged 19 and 11. If the whole "triangle" thing ever actually works he would be tremendous on a team with good ball movement. He relied on WB to get him into his spots last year, but he was very effective on the p-n-r.
Kinda surprised neither the Lakers or Knicks have went after Koufos either, hell even the Clippers. Got to see quite a bit of him in Memphis and he's a lot more mobile than you would imagine by looking at him. He can actually play power forward, and did on numerous occasions for Memphis. He reminds me a little of Mozgov, he's quicker and more mobile though, but not quite the shot blocker or finisher Mozgov is.

Cavs showing "strong interest" in David West. I guess this is under the assumption that Varejao suffers another season ending injury because I don't see where he gets his playing time with Love, Thompson, Mozgov, and Andy in the frontcourt already.Comment

For the price.
Like if they could get Kanter for 10-12 a year I would consider that better than Lopez at 20 a year. He's talented offensively, and doesn't have injury concerns.

I thought Lopez shed his injury concerns after last year or does he need to do it for more than half a year to get rid of that?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Along with the Heat, Kings are interested in Lou Williams.
Go ahead and battle it out for him...offer Raptors the best price in a S&T while you're at it.
For either team, I'd hope it's a deal like: S&T Lou + option for Raptors to swap Clippers conditional 2017 1st rounder for that other teams 1st rounder(whichever one they're allowed to deal, whether it be 2017,2018,2019)Comment

Aldridge really went to the Spurs. They'll be title contenders for at least the next 3-4 years. Damn.
@WojYahooNBA: Free agent LaMarcus Aldridge will sign with the San Antonio Spurs, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.Last edited by Jrocc23; 07-04-2015, 11:12 AM.HATE LOSING MORE THAN I LOVE WINNING!

One day Phoenix will land that star player. Sucks to see them continue to strike out there. They've got youth and pieces.
