Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Yo, Lakers better than Utah? What?? Lol. Let me break it down.
Gordon Hayward at this point is better than anybody on the Laker roster, including Kobe Bryant. Look at rhe advanced stats, the true shooting percentages, etc.
Rudy Gobert is arguably one of the best centers on the league and will be making a strong push for DPOY. Derrick Favors is a legitimate inside-out defender and had one of the top PERs for PFs last year.
Alec Burks and Rodney Hood are two young offensive talents on the wings. Trey Burke is garbage but he came along as our backup point guard. Exum is slowly becoming one of the best defensive point guards in the league.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Teams that are easily better:
GS
HOU
SAS
MEM
NO
LAC
Teams that are better but are still mediocre:
PHX
Jazz
Teams that suck but are still better:
Kings
Just because they're the Lakers doesn't mean they will make it. The team even with the additions is one of the worst teams in the league.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
I don't think there is a rule. In the case of Blake and Oden they didn't play a single second of regular season ball so they technically still weren't NBA players if that makes sense. Those 14 minutes cost Julius his rookie season.Comment

What makes you think the Lakers are any good? I don't understand.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Do you think its going to take 50 wins again? I dont...
I think people are dumping hibbert to much. He needs to be used similar to how deandre is used with the clippers. Move your feet, defend the paint. Get his points off hustle, back door cuts, and putbacks. Post up against obvious mismatches. He is capable of playing that role.
Bass can hustle, rebound and knock down the mid range. Randle is no scrub, and im not sure why the knock on lou williams. I think he is an upgrade over nick young.
Its all a bunch of what ifs, but all im saying is if everything falls into place, (healthy Kobe, randle and Russell playing decent ball, and hibbert playing his role), lakers have a shot of sneaking into an 8th seed.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
to be fair to fatleg i dont think hes declaring with confidence that the lakers will make playoffs. i just think hes saying that(behind other teams) they have a chance. Maybe not likely but they could, if sacto, nop, and pheonix meltodown(which is possible but not likely) then it would come between utah and la, of course utah has the better shot but it (on top of being ironic) could happen. Again not likely in the slightest but possible. tbh i dont want us to make playoff, and anyone who makes 8th is getting smashed by gsw, okc, or sas so i dont even get why this is being talked aboutLakers

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Lou Williams is a more mature Nick Young. That's it. He's still a horribly inefficient shooter who will make stupid shots for you and may win you a couple of games. Hibbert isn't a game changer, nor is Bass, and Kobe isn't good anymore. Hibbert isn't athletic enough to play like Deandre does, and now that he's playing in the West he won't be as "dominant" (LOL) as he was in the East with Indy.Comment

Ya'll acting like the man said they're gonna challenge for one of the top 4 spots in the West. Relax people lol
Plus with how the last spot in the West has been historically, it's pretty much always come down to the last few weeks for that spot and it's usually been a team that nobody expected to make it. Guarantee if I go back in last year's Offseason Thread, it's maybe one person at the most that thought New Orleans would get in there with half of their roster out due to injuries at various points of the year lol. So I wouldn't put it past LA to get it.
I would like to see the Jazz make it, mainly so I don't gotta keep hearing every single offseason from Jazzman about telling us to "watch out for the Jazz" and then next thing you know, they're sitting at home for the playoffs AGAIN.
And with how they ended the 2nd half of last year, it's no reason for them to not start the season off hot barring any injuries and if one of those top 4 teams start off slow, which is bound to happen only for them to start hitting their stride by New Year's.#RespectTheCultureComment
