    re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread

I think the difference between Lebron's backlash vs. Durant's on here is a lot of us are just grown now.

In 2010, I was 21/22 and took sports way too serious. In 2016, I've lived a little and gained some perspective. It's just silly to be upset with a stranger based on where he decides to work.

Yeah, there are about four or five of us (Teddy_Long, Gibbz, 24th, myself and one more) on here.

I wanted the Spurs to improve in other areas (starting PG, big men depth, getting younger and more athletic) where Durant wouldn't have helped in most of those areas.

          That's all a given.

You'll find old contradicting statements from anyone in this age of social media. Used to happen in my era too but there wasn't a footprint left behind for all to see.

It wasn't just Cavs fans, lol. Tons of people saying they lost respect for LeBron, this is bad for the league, people complaining about NBA 2K11 (lol), he's a coward, bla bla bla.

The funny thing about this is Durant joining an already existing superteam of dudes he ain't even friends with is far more of a bitch move than forming a superteam that doesn't exist with two of your best friends. That's why I'm a little surprised there's not more backlash but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Regardless, it's just going to be that much sweeter if the Cavs repeat.
In that year's Offseason Thread(which is what I was talking about)it was Cavs fans in their feelings talking about **** him and Dan Gilbert coming out with his comic sans font letter. Most other folks were making fun of him and using every nWo comparison out there. It wasn't until the "not 1, 2, 3" thing when everyone jumped on him.

It went on for about 30-40 pages just on that night alone.

Exactly. People act like KD couldn't change how he felt about winning a ring in the 5-6 years since that tweet. A whole lot of people have given him **** for not being able to win one in that time. There is a way to win with respect but the dude has been in the league for almost a decade now and, as he has said, is "fed up with being 2nd"

                      True.

but when that fluidity just happened to take place an hour ago after this news it's a lot harder to take seriously, lol

For me, it was all about him doing a one hour tv special. I don't care if players want to leave, join their friends, win a championship, it's their life and it's a business. The tv show just rubbed me the wrong way.

Teams should just refuse to take Bogut's salary. League-wide no fly zone on transactions with Golden State. They can't clear the money, they can't get Durant. GG.
